Worksite Location Options:  Olympia, Tacoma, Silverdale, Capitol Hill, Bellevue or Everett!


(Primarily Mon - Fri with a rare/occasional Saturday - Local Travel to KPWA Radiology Locations 5% - 10%)



Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating, developing, planning, organizing all aspects of region wide Imaging Operations and program management in collaboration with Imaging leadership. Serves as a subject matter expert and acts as the technical resource for the region in designated specialized area. Responsible for the design and oversight of highly reliable imaging operations including accountabilities for quality of care, quality of members experience, affordability, standard work and employee, experience and competence. Provides consultation and direction for multiple business functions including patient care and service delivery, financial, data analysis and reporting, business planning and analytic consultation, project management, accreditation coordination to support the clinical and health plan business functions infra-structure of Imaging Operations. In collaboration this individual contributor supports the Director and Physician Leader, clinical leadership and frontline teams in management of all aspects of clinical operations. Accountable for role modeling principles defined in KP Mission and Standards and creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity.



Essential Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with other Imaging Services Manager(s) and Imaging Services Leadership Team to ensure regional alignment with Imaging goals and consistency in Imaging Services management, process and compliance and overall service quality. Assist, support, and oversee regulatory compliance and accreditation requirements to ensure that all are met or exceeded. Assist and support the supervisors in the development and implementation of monitors for quality assurance in the medical clinics.

  • Collaborates to manage programmatic aspects of Imaging operations, implementing and monitoring short- and long-term actions consistent with the organizations mission and strategic plan and the departments mission and strategic objectives. Integrate Regional Imaging Services goals with the goals of the organization and in providing affordable, quality health care to members. Collaborates with leadership of Imaging Services to ensure member access, optimal customer service, financial responsibility and a safe environment for all members and employees.

  • Responsible for and monitors Imagings performance on key indicators to include affordability, quality and service.

  • As a delegate of the Director of Imaging, will monitor and ensure accountability for assigned group of cost centers in the designated area of responsibility. Perform financial planning; review budget preparation and justification of labor and non-labor expenditures. Maintain an ongoing process to identify and evaluate cost restructuring activities that achieve gainful results for Imaging Services and the organization. Develop, monitor and administer capital equipment budget for throughout the region working with Radiology leadership.

  • Prepare program descriptions and narratives for new Medical Office Radiology remodels within the area(s) of responsibility. As a member of the Imaging Services Leadership Team, utilize knowledge, communication and relationships to integrate planning processes for all facility related work teams in area. In conjunction with the regional Imaging Services Leadership Team, select equipment and maintain strategy. Determine staffing and materials needs for openings. Lead change initiatives throughout the region to improve access, patient and provider satisfaction.

  • Represent Radiology departments in clinical area functions and committees. Develop and maintain an effective network of relationships in the area fostered by frequent communication and interaction with clinic individuals. Maintain a productive partnership with the physicians, radiology managers and medical office managers.

  • Represent Radiology for quality and safety working closely with the Senior Manager and Regional Radiology RN manager on oversite, quality reporting, training, hospital compliance, radiation safety and service.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience


  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in project management or program management within healthcare environment.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in working with senior leadership.

  • Minimum five (5) years as a registered radiologic technologist or similar specialty. (RDMS etc.).

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience within Radiology services.

Education

  • Associates degree in business administration, healthcare, or related field.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate required at hire OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn required at hire OR Registered Vascular Technician Certificate required at hire OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen required at hire OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate required at hire OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Nuclear Medicine Technologist required at hire OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Radiography required at hire OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Breast required at hire
Additional Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory (state and federal) agency requirements and professional practice standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the function of a diagnostic imaging department.
  • Thorough knowledge of principles of supervision, management, personnel management, financial analysis and budgeting.
  • Demonstrates customer-focused service skills.

  • Knowledge of medical records release regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Vascular position must have Registered Vascular Tech (RVT).
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of clinical imaging administrative experience.
  • Experience in behavioral interviewing.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Continued involvement in state and local professional societies.
  • Proven ability to organize and manage facility projects.
  • Current knowledge of Radiology information Systems (RIS), Picture Archive and Communication Systems (PACS), electronic medical record (EMR- EPIC) and PC software.
  • Demonstrated strengths in decision making in a consensus environment and partnership management.
  • Bachelors degree in business administration or related health field.
