Location Details for South Sacramento Medical Center

South Sacramento Medical Center 6600 Bruceville Rd. Sacramento, California 95823

Serving local communities since 1984, South Sacramento Medical Center is the largest and busiest of the area's Kaiser Permanente facilities, with nearly 3,000 employees and 300 physicians. We are conveniently located close to Elk Grove and Greenhaven/Pocket as well as downtown Sacramento and currently have 161 licensed beds, 13 private labor and delivery rooms, and 24 private mother-baby recovery rooms.

South Sacramento Medical Center and the Elk Grove Medical Office cater to a very diverse population and offer a variety of services and specialties. The medical center is also a specialty center for trauma services, sports medicine, cochlear implants (for hearing loss), head and neck surgery, and chronic pain management, and offers culturally competent care at its Latino Health Center.

Our new Level II Trauma Center provides members and the community with advanced levels of lifesaving care when and where they need it. South Sacramento Medical Center also recently became Sacramento County’s first Baby-Friendly™ hospital, a designation based on World Health Organization and UNICEF standards for excellence in breastfeeding support to new mothers and their babies. Only 83 birthing centers in the United States have been designated with such an honor.

To better meet the future health care needs of the community and our members in South Sacramento and Elk Grove, our medical center is undergoing a $300-million expansion project that will increase the number of beds to 290. The expansion is expected to be completed in phases through 2010 and will enlarge the Emergency Department and add operating room capacity, a helipad, a new 136-bed hospital tower, and additional outpatient clinic space. We also plan to open a second medical office building in Elk Grove in 2011.

Parking is free and available to both employees and members.
