Golden Gate Bridge

California's largest nonprofit health plan, Kaiser Permanente Northern California currently serves approximately 3.2 million members at 21 medical centers and 160 medical offices across the region. A crossroads of health care delivery, leadership, and innovation, Kaiser Permanente Northern California has been widely commended for excellence. The National Committee for Quality Assurance recognized us as having the number one Medicare plan in the country, and one of the top 15 commercial health care plans. We also had the highest member satisfaction among commercial health plans in California, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2011 National Health Insurance Plan Study.

Living in Northern California

When you think of Northern California, you might picture the scenic Golden Gate Bridge, the beauty of the Napa Valley, or the high-tech world of Silicon Valley. But Northern California is more than waves, wine, and über-sophisticated technology. (Though we Northern Californians do love all of those things!)

From the cosmopolitan to the countryside, you'll find a range of landscapes, climates, communities, and scenery to suit your needs and your lifestyle. Whether you dream of sailing the bay or surfing the waves, snowboarding the Sierras or hiking Yosemite, attending the opera or strolling the vineyards, you'll discover the cultural and recreational diversity that makes Northern California one of the most desirable places in the world to live and work.
