Description:

Actively participates in a range of management, management consulting and analytic support for customer specific data analysis and reporting. Provides analytical/strategic thinking and leadership skills that support account management, underwriting, brokers/consultants and/or groups in making strategic data related decisions. Designs and executes on complex analytic projects that involve analysis for group related issues across disciplines and functional areas; makes recommendations to KP leadership; creates analysis that inform critical strategic issues; and contributes to problem solving, process design and analytical report development.



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates as subject matter expert, with project management team in assessing project status, as well as, developing and executing strategies to resolve and/or mitigate risks to meeting deadlines.

  • Evaluates and assesses, current to future state needs of the health plan's analytic and reporting tool. Provides leadership with feedback and recommendations for solutions and/or enhancements when appropriate.

  • Coordinates and manages all aspects of application testing, and is point of contact for problem resolution.

  • Develops project proposals, recommendations, implementation plans, communication packages, performance measurement tools, and training materials related to assigned projects.

  • Conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses on a broad array of issues across disciplines, projects and functional areas.

  • Formulates specific implementation plans and evaluates the effectiveness of actions/programs implemented.


  • Recommends suggested action steps based on the analysis of the results.

  • Provides analytic and reporting support to both technical and non-technical internal and external users.

  • Basic Qualifications:

    Experience

  • Minimum eight (8) years proven experience in healthcare data analytics, health underwriting and/or healthcare reimbursement.

  • Minimum three (3) years proven experience as consultant, project coordinator or in a multi-person leadership role.

  • Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public health or related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.

  • License, Certification, Registration

  • N/A.



  • Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency with the Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Extensive experience working with healthcare claims data.

  • Experience in SQL programming.

  • Healthcare industry knowledge.

  • Strong analytical, verbal and communication skills, public speaking for internal and external presentations required.

  • Ability to learn and apply thorough understanding of a large complex organization and its customers.

  • Knowledge of data systems flow and differences to business process that affect solution management.

  • Knowledge of healthcare industry practices.

  • Must have experience working with relationship database management systems such as Access, SQL Server, Oracle and/or other like systems, as well as, the ability to manipulate and generate reports.



  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broker/consultant engagement experience preferred.

  • Development of benefit plan design and pricing strategies preferred.


  • Master's degree preferred.
