Our nurses embody a set of core values and professional behaviors that define who we are.  The Licensed Professional Nurse - Virtual Nursing Care provides virtual nursing care for patients, members and families to restore and promote health and to prevent illness and injury. Collaborates with leadership and members of the Virtual Care Team to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe care and service.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Monitors electronic messaging related to patient and provider requests and inquires within scope of practice and as delegated by RN. Manages the messages as appropriate and responds timely and effectively to resolve patient requests and concerns.
  • Determines appropriateness and acuity of needs based upon electronic messaging content and initiates follow-up telephone contact within scope of practice.
  • Directs messages and transfers calls if determined to be outside of scope of practice to RN for management and resolution.
  • Assesses patient and family health education needs, provides health teaching and counseling and evaluates effectiveness of the education process.
  • Accurately documents patient data according to established guidelines and policies.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities or initiatives.
  • Serves as an advocate for the patient.
  • Completes other department-specific procedures and nursing care within scope of practice and skill.
  • Consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanente's Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • License, Certification, Registration
  • Current licensure as a LPN in the State of Georgia (in good standing) or able to obtain prior to date of hire.

  • Additional Requirements:
  • Complete a Customer Service Assessment.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Customer service aptitude demonstrated through Customer Service Assessment.
