Description: The Program Mrg is responsible for providing a broad range of administrative, facilitation & technical support functions, specifically in the area of Quality Improvement Patient Safety to support regional Quality Patient Safety programs & initiatives. Specifically, the Program Mrg, Drives business value through partnerships to identify problems & define optimal outcomes, Applies Analytical & Critical Thinking to generate insightful, innovative & practical solutions to regional issues, Demonstrates execution skills to meet client expectations while delivering value & minimizing potential obstacles & risks, Manages stakeholder relationships & understand/manage owner needs & build commitment to project solutions, maximizes team performance by working collaboratively w/team members from diverse backgrounds & w/diverse capabilities & pursues personal training & skill development opportunities that build expertise, professionalism & confidence.

Essential Functions:
  • Content area of expertise: Assists in the planning & execution of short & long term Quality & Safety priorities in alignment w/regional & organization-wide goals. Ensures Safety & Quality projects have clear & measurable goals & objectives & monitors results. Keeps abreast of industry/regulatory trends. Implements work plans in the areas of Patient Safety & Quality to improve quality & patient safety &/or to reduce variation in practice & promote efficient use of healthcare resources. Assists w/the develop & implementation of a regional patient safety strategy that includes a region-wide plan for routine surveillance of quality & patient safety systems, including hospitals & other contracted organizations & practitioners. Identify routine HealthConnect patient safety & continuity of care metrics for each department & leverage HealthConnect to improve quality & patient safety. Support chiefs in the review of quality & patient safety concerns including: Review aggregate data on a routine basis & conduct root cause analysis of identified issues as needed; partner w/Chiefs & operational leaders to prioritize issues & develop action plans to address them; document action plans & monitor results as required by regulatory & accreditation bodies. Identify & transfer best practices for improving quality & patient safety. Collaborate w/Operational Leaders in the development of initiatives to improve service & assist w/assessing effectiveness of interventions. Participate in cross-functional teams to improve quality & effectiveness of care delivery.
  • Knowledgeable of regulatory & accrediting body standards related to Quality & Patient Safety & ensures local compliance. Participates in regional cross-functional teams, as appropriate, to drive clinical improvements & efficient use of resources. Supports the implementation of regional Patient Safety & Quality work plans to ensure overall Program goals are accomplished & intermittent milestones are completed in a timely manner. In partnership w/the clinical champions & departmental program Mrgs, creates detailed, line-item patient/health education work plans segmented by major milestones complete w/activity descriptions, responsible party assignments & timeframes for completion. Drives the completion of Patient Safety & Quality work plans through organization & facilitation of meetings, monitoring or work tasks & the completion of periodic status reports as required. Interacts w/departmental program Mrgs &/or workgroups to provide regularly scheduled updates for progress related to Patient Safety & Quality initiatives & to communicate possible issues that threaten established timelines.

  • Basic Qualifications:
    Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with demonstrated ability to develop and manage multiple work plans.
  • Experience in designing and developing patient education materials and resources.
    Education
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, business, health education, or related field.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A

    Additional Requirements:
  • Proficient computer presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience with demonstrated ability to develop and manage multiple work plans.
  • Master's degree in health care administration, nursing, public health, business, economics or related field preferred.
