The RN, Workforce Health practices professional nursing as defined by the Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies. The RN, Workforce Health provides biometric screening services and immunizations in both corporate and public settings. Utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient needs and provides nursing care for patients, members, and families to promote health and wellness. Collaborates with the Health Care Team to deliver high quality, safe care, and service. Facilitates transitions and coordination of care across the continuum.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The RN, Workforce Health demonstrates KP Nursing Values (Professionalism; Patient and Family-Centered Care; Compassion; Teamwork; and Integrity). Provides a professional level of nursing care to patients within his/her scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process to assess the health status, establish a nursing diagnosis, establish nursing goals to meet health care needs, and develop, implement and evaluate a nursing plan of care. O.C.G.A. 43-26-3(8). The RN, Workforce Health is responsible for accurate completion of screenings as reflected in the workflow by addressing barriers with focus on care gaps and patient goals. Schedules appointments within the appropriate discipline based on proactive care needs. Administers vaccines/ immunizations according to organization polices and protocols. Performs manual blood pressure, weight / height, BMI, cholesterol and glucose sticks using a Cholestech machine. Provides education based on national guidelines specific to the screening test results. Provides education on reducing risk factors, healthy lifestyle choices, and refers to appropriate resources. Sets-up, performs, and/or assists with procedures as appropriate. Triages walk-in patients as needed or assigned. Reviews client consent and other forms for completeness and legibility before offering services. Accurately documents patient assessment, data, actions, interventions, and patient response according to established guidelines and policies. Assist with event setting / closing; ensures all equipment and forms are stored and tracked appropriately. Ensures a clean and functional work environment. Uses critical thinking and clinical assessment skills to handle emergency situations; i.e. reaction to vaccine/ immunization. Responds effectively to member / patient concerns, serves as an advocate for the patient. Demonstrates customer service skills to include; diplomacy, patience, problem solving with a range of clientele. Adjusts to fluctuating work flows and changing assignments; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect. Acts as a resource person to LPNs. Resolves problem within Workforce Health. Brings unresolved issues to the Manager's attention if unresolved within the team. Provides clinical services primarily at the worksite/on-site environments; but, may also provide care on the KPGA mobile health vehicle.

  • Conducts outgoing telephone calls to patients requiring follow up care and preventative outreach. Completes other department-specific procedures and nursing care within scope of practice and skill.

  • Assists with event logistics and coordination such as but not limited to inventory, supplies availability, event tracking, and reporting. Participates in the development and maintenance of data collections and report requirements. Provides recommendations and implements process improvements. Attends and participates in departmental meetings as required and/or requested.

  • Completes required staff development and other trainings as requested. Participates in fostering a safe workplace: participates in employee job safety analysis to eliminate hazards and prevent accidents, cooperates to investigate employee and volunteer injuries, promotes and support safety awareness and implement safety operations, encourages staff to make suggestions on safety practices. Leads or participates in quality improvement activities and/or initiatives. Serves as a role model for quality and service and as a resource, coach, and mentor for other members of the Health Care Team. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum one (1) year in RN experience.

  • Education

  • Associate degree in nursing.

  • License, Certification, Registration

  • Unrestricted Georgia Registered Nurse or if licensed in a state other than Georgia, able to obtain Georgia license prior to start date.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained prior to hire date.

  • Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of accredited RN School of Nursing.

  • Complete a Customer Service Assessment.

  • Customer service aptitude demonstrated through Customer Service Assessment.

  • Ability to analyze translate and facilitate, client engagements, policies and procedures for the community, educate staff and engage the public sector about the impact of aligning with healthcare providers and contributing to their own wellness. In addition, the individual will coordinate the use of technology to advance healthcare screenings and coordinate provider follow-up care.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills i.e. history of positive working relationships.

  • Able to demonstrate dependability i.e. history of punctuality and good attendance.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) RN experience in biometric screenings.

  • Minimum three (3) years clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or LPN. 

  • BSN degree.
