Description:



The User Experience (UX) job family is responsible for designing the digital experience on KP.org, it's mobile apps and and throughout the greater KP digital presence. Members of the UX team must understand both the business and the technical aspects of the Web and mobile applications. They need to understand business stakeholders' perspectives and the end-user's needs. Being able to bridge both the business and technical areas of KP, and to fully understand the different languages used and processes employed, is critical to the success of this team. This team evangelizes the user perspective in the design and development activities for Kaiser Permanente's entire digital presence. Through a combination of influence and standards, they define the online user experience that will produce optimal results.




Essential Responsibilities:



  • Applies designs and interaction patterns to KP.org features and architectures in conjunction with development teams.

  • Provides basic support for development of features based on existing design patterns during discussions with the project team and creation of stimuli.

  • Creates and documents basic designs and patterns based on business needs and user research (Maintains the Design Pattern Library).

  • Develops solutions to a diverse range of minor problems, which require creativity and innovation.

  • Requires in-depth analysis to identify and recommend new solutions for more complex problems.

  • Provides routine fact-based information.

  • May communicate with outside vendors to arrange services.

  • Integrates with project teams to support interaction design.




 


Basic Qualifications:


Experience



  • Minimum two (2) years of web and/or application design experience.



Education



  • Bachelor's degree in related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.



License, Certification, Registration



  • N/A





Additional Requirements:



  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites and Sketch.

  • Some knowledge of policies, practices and systems.

  • Limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts.

  • Limited knowledge of industry practices and standards.

  • Solid knowledge of responsive web and mobile design principles, trends, competition, technical limitation in order to design products and relationships between suites of related products appropriately.

  • Limited customer or industry experience.

  • Basic knowledge and background in design principles and methodologies preferred.





Preferred Qualifications:



  • Four (4) years of web and/or application design experience.

  • Experience in computer and/or web programming preferred but not required.
