Description:

In addition to performing the duties described in Medical Imaging Field Service Engineer job description. The Chief position directs the distribution of scheduled and unscheduled work orders, serves as a technical leader and reference source to other Service Engineers, provides consultation to professional staff and to management staff of the Clinical Technology Department and serves as a special projects leader.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs all duties described in the Medical Imaging Field Service Engineer job description.

  • Assigns, coordinates and schedules resources on a daily basis to ensure timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled tasks and duties.

  • Effectively utilizes resources to ensure work is completed per department policy and standards.

  • Promotes a high level of customer satisfaction through good communication between other Engineers and by monitoring established communication processes between other Engineers and the customer.

  • Monitors engineers to ensure work order system documentation is completed per department protocol and procedures.

  • Approves overtime as needed to accomplish service objectives.

  • Coordinates outside service vendor support to facilitate repairs/installations that are beyond the scope of normal maintenance operations.

  • Coordinates department in-service for new employees, assists in performing regulatory and job specific training to the work group, and recommends training for service engineers.

  • Provides input to supervisor for engineer's performance appraisals.

  • Basic Qualifications:

    Experience

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience servicing multi-modality medical imaging equipment OR minimum five (5) years experience and CRES certification

  • Education

  • AAS degree in biomedical equipment service technology, electronic service technology, or computer service technology from an accredited program or military Biomedical Equipment training.


  • License, Certification, Registration

  • Must have valid driver's license.


  • Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the following areas: customer service, interpersonal relations, adaptability, change management, decision making, oral communication, problem solving, project management, quality management, results orientation, teamwork, and written communication.

  • Must be able to demonstrate proficient knowledge in the operation and maintenance of medical imaging systems.

  • Must have knowledge of standards and codes applicable to medical imaging systems.

  • Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills


    Preferred Qualifications:

  • AAMI Certified Radiology Equipment Service (CRES)

  • Leadership role supporting medical equipment support and service operations
