Behavioral Health Manager

Description: Responsible for the clinical, administrative, financial and overall operations of a large multi-specialty mental health clinic. Develops clinical services and administrative processes to anticipate and meet the complex and changing demands on the department's service delivery system. Participates in establishing and executing the strategic goals and objectives for the Behavioral Health Department. Promotes and implements the labor management partnership. Partners with all administrative and clinical departments in the organization to ensure high quality care and service to members with behavioral health needs. Manages care delivered to members via contracted providers and agencies. Assists in responding to and resolving customer service issues. Provides courteous, accessible, high quality care and services to our members through the establishment and management of various alcohol/chemical dependency programs.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manages clinic and office supervisors, licensed mental health providers, psychiatric nurses, and administrative support staff clinically and administratively, including directing and monitoring clinical care, provider's practice style, utilization, and documentation.
  • Plans and executes on specific organizational and departmental goals with specific targets and metrics.
  • Accountable for the quality of care, service, and cost effectiveness of operations including the preparation and management of budgets, including all external expenses.
  • Develops clinical services and administrative processes to anticipate and meet the complex and changing demands on the department's service delivery system.
  • Provides leadership responsibility in fully understanding, promoting, and implementing the Labor Management Partnership.
  • Provides broad leadership across the Behavioral Health Department and participates in region wide quality improvement projects.
  • Represents the Behavioral Health Department to all clinical and administrative departments within the organization to ensure high quality of care and service to our members.
  • Receives and works to resolve member, patient, employer and internal staff complaints and concerns about the quality of care and service.
  • Assumes the supervision and responsibility for the practice of all staff in regard to compliance with legal, ethical and clinical standards. This includes administering personnel policies and programs, interviewing, selecting, training, motivating, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and terminating in compliance with EEO/AA goals and personnel policies of the organization.

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum four (4) years of post-graduate supervised psychotherapy experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a lead, supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling or psychology.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • Currently licensed as a Social Worker, Psychologist, Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Colorado.

  • Four (4) years of post-graduate supervised psychotherapy experience, preferably in an outpatient setting.
