The HPPSA Consumer Data Integration (CDI) Director is responsible for enabling the HPPSA organization to better understand its consumers experiences by prioritizing and consolidating data sources into a single data storage solution and modeling them in a way to enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and intelligent automation. The core objectives of the role are to make consumer experience data readily available for interpretation and analysis, enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and intelligent automation leveraging data from multiple health plan functions in a single place, ensure data definitions and interpretations of data are consistent across the health plan, reduce the duplication of data and data storage costs across HPPSA, democratize data across the HPPSA department, and empower users to create and explore data in a self-service manner.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and managing an environment to host the HPPSA big data storage solution based on space demands and performance expectations.

  • Managing an on and offshore team responsible for building and maintaining the HPPSA big data storage solution.

  • Documenting and collecting requirements and use cases for the big data storage solution.

  • Providing guidance and input on the data architecture to maximize value to the organization.

  • Establishing and operating HPPSA data governance and management processes.

  • Creating documentation and aids for the HPPSA data storage solution.

  • Providing end user training and support for the HPPSA data storage solution.

  • Provisioning and monitoring access to the HPPSA data storage solution.

  • Communicating upgrades, outages, and routine maintenance to end users.

  • Prioritizing and governing the addition and modification of the HPPSA data storage solution.

  • Defining the data integration roadmap based on feedback from HPPSA leadership.

  • Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in management or technical consulting.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing a team directly or indirectly.

  • Education

  • Bachelor degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

  • License, Certification, Registration

  • N/A

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building data storage solutions leveraging Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or similar technology preferred.

  • Experience working with cloud data storage solutions including Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services preferred.

  • Experience working with data science teams or other advanced analytical functions to enable machine learning or predictive analytics preferred.

  • Experience organizing data for visualization or journey mapping preferred.

  • Experience partnering and influencing business partners in a highly matrixed organization preferred. 

  • Advanced degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics field or equivalent experience or Master of business administration (MBA) preferred.
