Supervisor, Quality Control Audit (Admitting - Patient Access / Revenue Cycle Operations)

Description: Ensures the integrity of outside medical payments for the Organization through verification of the accuracy of data-entered information and by auditing service related information and invoice adjudication/payment for compliance with contract terms and Department and Regional Policies and Procedures.

Essential Functions:
  • Supervises the Outside Medical Audit Group.
  • Develops, modifies and implements the departmental audit procedures as they affect all aspects of outside referral payments.
  • Ensures that audit staff tests payments for accuracy according to departmental policies and management guidelines.
  • Traces sources of inaccuracies; reports and proposes remedial action to appropriate management.
  • Ensures regular sampling of audits made by direct reports.
  • Prepares formal statistical summaries to department manager of findings and recommendations.

  • Basic Qualifications:
    Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of auditing or accounting experience.
    Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business administrationOR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A.

    Additional Requirements:
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of mainframe, on-line computer systems, personal computers and spreadsheet and word processing programs.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Medical terminology and knowledge of medical billing practices.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in account payable/claims environment preferred.
  • Strong Auditing background, tracking & trending experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Training experience is highly preferred.
  • Masters degree is preferred
  • Denial prevention/denial management experience preferred
  • Cash audit - experience preferred
