Description:
Responsible for a range of process improvement activities.  Activities include planning, performing, and implementing process improvement initiatives, in addition to ownership of operational processes.  These initiatives may represent one portion of a larger project or may represent a stand alone initiative or function within a work group or department.  Process management functions may include data gathering and analysis, best practice research, process mapping, developing, and recommending alternatives for improvement, and monitoring post-process improvement initiative performance to updated standards.  Activities are undertaken and executed in support of organizational goals and are accountable for providing business process solutions to meet internal and external customer expectations.  May utilize lean/six sigma processes and concepts to lead process improvement initiatives.




Essential Responsibilities:



  • Identify, collect, clean, and analyze data including operational data, financial data, performance data, population data, and other data types. Interpret the results of data analyses and present clear insights in relationship to business needs. Identify, understand, interpret, and apply industry benchmarking. Perform various types of analysis including statistical analysis, predictive analysis, variance analysis and financial modeling. Coordinate across the enterprise to identify data sources and existing analytical outputs relevant to Performance Optimization initiatives.

  • Conduct research, collect, and analyze relevant information and data, develop hypotheses and insights, identify opportunities, propose options, and define solutions to enhance the member experience and address healthcare costs. Demonstrate advanced analysis and problem-solving skills. Offer suggestions and recommendations based on data and reasoning to help drive decision making. Serve as data-focused thought partner for project teams, leadership, business partners, stakeholders, and executives.

  • Perform as part of small, fast-paced teams with interdependent workstreams that need to be coordinated and integrated frequently. Offer insights, support teammates, seek and offer help and constructive criticism when needed, and take accountability for the teams success. Build relationships, partner with and influence peers, partners, stakeholders, and senior leadership by providing data-driven insights, presenting clear and compelling information and delivering on commitments. Coach and mentor peers and junior team members.

  • Design processes and tools to measure and report on initiative performance and results, typically focused on increased productivity, reduced costs, and improved member experience. Collect data, coordinate with teams and stakeholders, and support the development of business cases with costs, benefits and ROI forecasts clearly articulated, and develop mechanisms to track performance against the business case.

  • Organize and present data in a meaningful way, including advanced visualization of data. Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and other presentations of data to meet the needs of various audiences including senior executives, stakeholders, and team members. Demonstrate advanced Excel, Tableau and Power BI skills.  Possess basic SQL query skills

  • Distill large volumes of data and research into concise and intuitive written communications, presentations and discussions tailored to specific audiences. Provide transparency in sharing information about approach, expectations, outcomes, risks, issues, and limitations. Exhibit comfort and competence under questioning.

Experience



  •  Minimum six (6) years of experience in a quantitative discipline or a directly related field

     



Education



  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Social/Physical/Life Sciences, Management Science, Business Economics, or related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field required

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
