Plans, directs, and coordinates Health Education activities in areas of health promotion, education, lifestyle training, and worksite wellness programs. Provides consultation services for regional health promotion initiatives and programs. Coordinates local and regional staff for health education initiatives and programs.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Consults and coordinates regional primary prevention initiatives and programs related to self-care, prevention and wellness for members.  Utilizes patient care information in counseling members participating in classes related to regional wellness programs.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements Health Education programs and activities. Coordinates and teaches Health Education classes related to wellness programs for members. Oversees and evaluates work performance of instructors as appropriate.  Assists with budget development. Determines short- and long- range needs for expenditures and reports problem situations to supervisor.
  • Reviews and monitors classes to members given. Recommends and implements approved changes in program. Assists in class and program development in accordance with established goals. Produces class catalog.
  • Coordinates and develops export programs. Coordinates and schedules classes and other health promotion activities sought by outside organizations including staffing, curriculum follow-through, and evaluation for same.
  • Assists in training and evaluation of assigned staff as appropriate. Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum two (2) years program development experience.
  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in health science, psychology, education, recreation, exercise physiology, nursing, or nutrition; or four (4) years of directly related experience.

  • Certification in wellness, lifestyle or health coaching preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in program planning and evaluation.
  • Lead or project management experience.
