Quality Management Coordinator RN Quest Integration

Description: Conducts quality outcome studies/projects as it relates to the QUEST Integration population. Coordinates & facilitates quality related task forces of key physician groups, Mrgs, supervisors, & frontline staff involved w/QUEST Integration members. Evaluates QUEST Integration Program clinical information, recommends interventions, & follows through w/execution of the proposed interventions in partnership w/physician groups, Mrgs, supervisors & frontline staff. Participates in quality information initiatives related to QUEST Integration Program members. Develops & manages effective use of process improvement to ensure systems improvements. Assists in establishment of work standards & procedures.

Essential Functions:
  • Conducts & participates in the compliance activities w/in the Region through an understanding of CMS, NCQA, & other identified regulatory or accrediting agencies.
  • Assists in defining QUEST Integration project goals, scope, assumptions, analytic approach, & data needs. Assists w/coordination & facilitates teams of key physicians, Mrgs & supervisors & frontline staff as directed.
  • Collects, compiles, & analyzes quality data related to QUEST Integration as directed. Performs appropriate analyses. Develops data tables & written analyses as directed. Evaluates quality outcomes & recommends interventions. Follows through w/intervention in partnership w/physician groups, Mrgs, supervisors & frontline staff.
  • May perform patient care to the extent necessary to maintain clinical expertise, competency & licensing necessary to fulfill job responsibilities & to direct the provision of care in the community & institutional setting.
  • Assists in monitoring & recommending changes in methods & procedures, & establishing work priorities to assure timely flow & efficiency, as appropriate. Acquires & interprets QUEST Integration data for decision making. Provides decision support & analysis to key physicians groups, Mrgs, supervisors & frontline staff.
  • Performs telephonic assessments of QUEST Integration members to triage immediate srv needs, assigns cases to Srv Coordinators &/or coordinates care of the QUEST Integration member w/ other healthcare providers as directed.
  • Completes required reports to submit to regulatory agencies as specified in the QUEST Integration Program contract.
  • Ensures effective quality data analyses are performed as requested. Develops methodology & processes to set priorities for project scheduling & monitors & oversees implementation. Establishes audit & reporting mechanisms to determine progress made towards more efficient productive high quality improvement.
  • Participates in quality & Medicaid related committees & quality improvement projects as assigned (includes collecting information from various information systems throughout Region, researching local &/or national data sources both w/in & outside Kaiser system, reviewing appropriate literature, collecting & compiling of data for operational improvement activities, recommending updates & modification of regional databases to facilitate future information needs & developing analytic approaches & methods to streamline future operational analyses).
  • May perform patient care to the extent necessary to maintain clinical expertise, competency, & licensing necessary to fulfill job responsibilities & to direct the provision of care on the unit.
  • Provides direct patient care on an as needed basis. Provides srvs that are w/in scope of license & in compliance w/all legal, regulatory, & policy requirements relevant to clinical role performed.

  • Basic Qualifications:
    Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of quality management, quality assurance, public policy, governmental affairs or related experience.
    Education
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • Valid Hawaii RN license (must meet education requirement(s) for Hawaii State licensure).
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.

    Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in interpersonal relations, oral communication, written communication, influence/negotiation,
    organization, planning, analysis, and quality management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in nursing, allied health, economics, business, or related field.
