Description: The Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinical Supervisor will utilize a high level of knowledge and skills in clinical operations to support the Obstetrics and Gynecology department. The Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinical Supervisor will work directly with nurse leaders, providers, staff and support departments to coordinate patient care and services. Reviews and manages the scheduling template daily to ensure accurate, timely and clinically-appropriate scheduling. Ability to effectively communicate department statistics and, scheduling and template changes to providers and nursing staff. Coordinates care with referring providers, inside and outside of Kaiser Permanente, including primary care providers and other specialty providers. Ability to be self-directed and act independently to resolve departmental issues. Participates in Unit-Based Teams (UBTs) and facilitates the spread of best practices across the department.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinical Supervisor will provide front-line leadership within his/her assigned module(s) and support departmental functions.
  • Ensures that OB/GYN modules are adequately staffed to meet the needs of our members and providers.
  • Reviews and manages the scheduling template daily to ensure accurate, timely and clinically-appropriate scheduling.
  • Collaborates with Nurse Leaders and OB/GYN Providers to disseminate pertinent information to staff.
  • Acts independently to resolve departmental issues in a timely manner and/or escalate as necessary.
  • Facilitates early adoption of clinical workflows and monitors for compliance.
  • Assists internal and external providers with STAT, emergent or urgent referrals.
  • Participates in OB/GYN UBTs and facilitates the spread of best practices across the department.
  • Promotes open communication between providers, staff and support departments.
  • Serves as a resource for Message Management, Advise Nurses, Call Center, Providers and Nursing staff to resolve patient care-related matters in a timely manner.


  • Basic Qualifications:
    Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of RN clinical nursing experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years in ambulatory care or hospital experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of RN experience plus two years of either Ambulatory Care or Obstetrics/Gynecology experience.
    Education
  • Associate's degreeOR two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Georgia (in good standing) or able to obtain prior to date of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained prior to hire date.

    Additional Requirements:
  • Customer service aptitude demonstrated through a Customer Service Assessment.
  • Complete a Customer Service Assessment.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum three (3) years of RN experience in medical triage, ambulatory clinic setting or hospital experience.
  • Prior Obstetrics/Gynecology experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
