Associate Analyst Treasury - Labor Economics

The Associate Analyst: Treasury - Labor Economics will play a pivotal role in conducting analyses and performing daily management of various projects of the Labor Economics / Treasury team of Kaiser Permanente. The key areas of responsibilities will include analytic support, daily project management and support of internal team operations all in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  The position will report to the Executive Director, Labor Economics.

Provides support to department managers and/or staff as well as conducts analysis on cash management, insurance management, risk evaluation and analysis, financing, leasing and modeling, retirement plan and foundation investments. Responsibilities may include routine analytical & accounting reporting; identifying established and unique concepts & trends; monitoring of portfolio investments; short- and long-term financial forecasting; coordination of banking activity; presentation of reconciled accrual statements; development of analytical tools & techniques; assisting in SOX compliance. Works on assignments of varying scope (limited to complex); ensures financial transactions and processes are documented and maintains an appropriate level of knowledge of current professional area of expertise.

Essential Functions:

- Generally works within set guidelines following standard practices and procedures, working on assignments that are clearly defined and limited in scope.
- Prepares routine analytical and accounting reports.
- Ensures financial transactions and processes are fully documented.
- Maintains analytic skill and proficiency with analytic tools.
- Maintain cross-functional relationships.
- Assists in SOX compliance and policies and procedures.
- Provides some routine clerical support.
- Special projects requested by management.

Basic Qualifications:
- N/A
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
- N/A
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of Treasury polices and practices.
- Understanding of treasury principles and concepts or general business knowledge.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.
- Basic analytical skills.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of Treasury or related business experience.

- Ability to work with senior leadership

- Ability to acquire and use internal and external information and knowledge of policies, practices, business principles, theories, and systems

- Ability to apply business theories to accomplish department projects and initiatives

- Ability to exercise independent judgment

- Ability to make sound decisions based on experience, knowledge, and analyses.

- Strong quantitative and analytical skills

- Background in finance or accounting preferred

- Advanced knowledge of Excel

- Project management skills

- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint
