Senior Treasury Analyst

Description: Provides support to department managers and/or staff as well as conducts analysis on cash management, insurance management, risk evaluation and analysis, financing, leasing and modeling, retirement plan and foundation investments. Responsibilities may include routine analytical and accounting reporting; identifying established and unique concepts and trends; monitoring of portfolio investments; short- and long-term financial forecasting; coordination of banking activity; presentation of reconciled accrual statements; development of analytical tools and techniques; assisting in SOX compliance. Works on assignments of varying scope (limited to complex); ensures financial transactions and processes are documented and maintains an appropriate level of knowledge of current professional area of expertise.

Essential Functions:
  • Works on assignments of diverse and complex scope.
  • Interprets less defined guidelines to make recommendations for process improvements and/or enhancements.
  • Requires complex planning to coordinate with other departments or resources.
  • Determines scope, objectives, and procedures to performed for each assignment, without considerable direction.
  • Leads the prep/updating of regular analytic and accounting, as well as develops tools and techniques of analysis and analysis established concepts and trends.
  • Prepares projections for corporate financial planning and presents reconciled accrual statements for Controllers.
  • Ensures financial transactions have adequate controls and processes are fully documented.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge of current professional area of expertise and provides research and initiative in introducing new and improved processes and reports, within broadly defined policies/procedures.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with management, so as to best coordinate across functional lines. Networks and participates in industry-related and/or professional associations.
  • Assists in SOX compliance and policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to the development and refresh of annual workplan.

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum seven (7) years of Treasury or related business experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A

    Additional Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of treasury policies, practices and systems.
  • Regularly contributes to the development of new treasury concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Frequently contributes to the development of new treasury work processes.
  • Considered expert in field within KP.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree emphasis in business, treasury or finance preferred.
  • Depending on function, accounting and insurance a plus.
  • For certain treasury functions, certification in specialized functions preferred (eg, ARM, CPA, CPUC).
