The Corporate Strategy department is responsible for developing and codifying enterprise-wide strategies for Kaiser Permanente. We work directly with executive leadership to advance our goals and transform our organization into the leading health company in America. Our role is to be a thought partner: bringing hindsight - perspectives on the way our business runs, insight - points of view on current positioning, and foresight - unique framing and perspectives to strategic issues. The department undertakes a number of significant strategic projects simultaneously. They range from small requests such as developing briefings on retail clinics, to very wide reaching and deep content projects such as orchestrating the national strategic planning process. Our success is made possible by working collaboratively with national and regional leadership groups and various subject matter experts.

Intern Project Description:

2 or 4 projects supporting KP-s planning and/or strategy development efforts with varying project complexity, duration, and scope. Projects may range from supporting the team inventory initiatives to helping frame and set expectations for the next planning cycle to developing a thought piece that synthesizes industry trends and implications to help explore KP implications. One of the projects could be intern-s choice based on interest and we encourage applicants to provide their proposals for this project.

Essential Functions:

- Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.

- Report development and analytics.

- Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.

- Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.

- Job shadowing in other functional areas.

- Performing additional duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

- Pursuing a graduate degree or have completed a graduate program from an accredited university within the last year.

- Bachelor's degree required.

License, Certification, Registration

Additional Requirements:

- Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions.

- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.



Preferred Qualifications:

- Pursuing master's degree in Business, Public Health, Healthcare Administration or related

- 3.0 GPA or above

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.

- Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with solid PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Flexible and comfortable in a highly ambiguous, rapidly changing environment
- Able to work in partnership with various departments and personalities to accomplish activities
