Digital Strategy & Insights (DSI) is a team within KP Digital focused on creating consumer-facing digital health experiences.  Digital is no longer a channel; the emphasis is now focused on using digital as an enabler of improving physical and virtual end-to-end experiences. As interactions with our members evolve from periodic touchpoints via a screen to consistent, connected experiences, we must create new engagements that are deeply integrated between digital and physical. 

We are a diverse team of strategic, empathetic thinkers and doers, who envision and craft experiences from strategy to digital prototypes.  Knowing our business, understanding our consumers and anchoring to our digital-first enterprise vision are at the core of our process.  Our team partners with senior leadership to deliver high impact projects. We help Business Leaders, Product Managers, Engineers, UX, and other functions build amazing digital products and experiences that delight consumers. 

The Strategy & Innovation practice, within DSI, co-creates actionable-strategic narratives for how digital will-deliver business and-consumer value, while-incubating and validating-early-stage ideas.  The team focuses on setting and communicating the direction for how digital will help to achieve enterprise strategies and value. 

The Digital Experience Strategist is accountable for all aspects of the work to facilitate and guide cross-functional teams in digital strategy formation to ensure framing, problem definition, and approach align with consumer needs, business objectives, and internal efforts. Activities will focus on discovering, shaping, and validating digital prototypes and championing a culture of innovation. In This Role, Your Major Responsibilities Will Include: 

Experience Strategy Development: 

•    Strategically set direction for digital solutions that put member/patient at center while solving for some of the top issues across health plan, care delivery and health engagement at KP 

•    Collaborate with business teams to identify business objectives and goals, operational challenges and digital opportunities 

•    Collaborate with product, engineering and experience design teams to understand key problems to solve for members and consumers 

•    Distill industry trends and opportunities into a focused set of themes that will help KP mature consumers experiences over time 

•    Study and input on consumer research to understand needs and challenges that are reflected in our personas and journey maps 

•    Assess competitive and best-in-class landscape to determine digital positioning and approach 

•    Participate and guide in design of sessions to map current state member experience and related technology and operations dependencies 

•    Support the work to visualize the future state experience and high-level roadmap development in digital 

•    Help drive the strategic experimentation of digital products/services prototypes, including helping to shape, define and prioritize innovation objectives and facilitate idea generation by identifying emerging trends and opportunities  

•    Create final strategy narratives and documents that pull various components into a coherent, sensible and complete view of the approach 

•    Socialize and support the next steps to execute the digital strategy and roadmap 

•    Evangelize digital thinking to help set, clarify, and promote objectives and strategies throughout the enterprise and establish thought leadership in the marketplace 

•    Be an advocate by supporting learning events, workshops, POV development and stakeholder engagements 

This managing level individual contributor is primarily responsible for directing project teams and managing technical direction across technical solutions and IT systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Directs the operation of multiple units and/or departments by identifying customer and operational needs; analyzing resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; gaining cross-functional support for business plans and priorities; translating business strategy into actionable business requirements; obtaining and distributing resources; setting standards and measuring progress; removing obstacles that impact performance; guiding performance and developing contingency plans accordingly; and ensuring products and/or services meet customer requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies.

  • Demonstrates continuous learning and maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning resource plans with business objectives; overseeing the recruitment, selection, and development of talent; motivating teams; preparing individuals for growth opportunities and advancement; staying current with industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices; providing guidance when difficult decisions need to be made; and ensuring performance management guidelines and expectations drive business objectives and results.

  • Oversees the development of requirements, for process or system solutions spanning multiple business domains by consulting with stakeholders and directing IT teams (for example, Solutions Delivery, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture).

  • Directs the management of business requirements to meet business, functional, and non-functional requirements (for example, SMART).

  • Assesses the costs, benefits, ROI, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of proposed solutions.

  • Oversees and takes accountability for the solution design process by ensuring solutions are aligned with business strategies, operational work flow, established budgets, and vendor service level agreements.

  • Oversees the implementation of and adherence to standardized tools, templates, and processes to support continuous process improvement across business domains.

  • Communicates lessons learned and feedback to consulting teams, senior leadership, and the larger IT consulting community.

  • Empowers IT consultant teams to identify sustainable best practices which align with the strategic and tactical goals of cross-functional business units.

  • Oversees partnerships between IT consultants, Program/Project Managers, and other IT planning leaders to drive workforce planning efforts.

  • Determines if the necessary skills and knowledge required to meet ongoing and changing business demands exists across business or technical domains, and ensures skill and knowledge gaps are closed through talent development and outsourcing as appropriate.

  • Approves and directs additional staff augmentation through managed service agreements as needed.

  • Develops the functional model for managing capacity and demand for IT Consultant resources across business functions.

  • Oversees budgets and capital planning across departments and annual business cycle levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience.

  • Minimum two (2) years managing operating budgets and/or project financials.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS or related field and Minimum eight (8) years experience in IT consulting, business analysis, or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years experience working for a health care organization

  • Five (5) years experience working for an IT organization

  • Three (3) years experience overseeing projects or programs requiring the integration of cross-functional technology and/or business solutions.

  • Two (2) years experience overseeing the development and management of vendor relationships.

  • Four (4) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above)

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS or related field

  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or other comparable business analyst or IT consulting certification
