Job Summary:

The Lead Curriculum Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of curricular implementation, including supervising the curriculum coordinator team. They also support the faculty and Office of Medical Education in the development and maintenance of the academic curriculum, performing high-level coordination and course management tasks in support of the spiral, case-based curriculum including managing complex schedules across multiple courses, uploading materials to the learning/content management system, managing course gradebooks, and acting as the course liaison for students and faculty.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Identify process improvements and contribute to development of standard operating procedures and processes for curriculum implementation.

  • Plan resources to maintain implementation efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Supervise day-to-day curriculum implementation operations and oversee performance of curriculum coordinator staff, including logistics, course material preparation, and general faculty support.

  • Support a culture of excellent service and communication that positively influences staff engagement. Contribute to a safe, productive, and supportive work environment for all staff.

  • Serve as the primary resource for curriculum implementation scheduling across courses and components.

  • Interpret and advise on guidelines and train users in the required processes and procedures.

  • May coordinate and support one or more curriculum sub-committees.

  • Provide back-up cross coverage and/or support to other curriculum coordinators and curricular events such as simulation as needed.

  • Project manage all aspects of faculty course administration tasks including timely completion of course materials and course approval and modification processes

  • Maintain the curriculum in the learning/content management system (Elentra), including creating learning events; uploading course materials, assessment, and evaluation items; and mapping the curriculum.

  • Collect evaluation and assessment data and runs routine reports; maintains gradebook and prepares grades for approval and final submission.

  • Maintain class schedules, ensures that Elentra is up-to-date and complete; assists with scheduling and preparation for course faculty development sessions; maintains up-to-date tracking system for student absences from mandatory course activities (and related communications with Office of Student Affairs).

  • Facilitate timely communication with course faculty and students, as needed.

  • Provide on-site support to curriculum delivery, including room reservations, classroom support and implementing technologies that support learning such as: collab board, AV system, Zoom, whiteboard, PollEV, Panopto)

  • Oversee the production and publication of both print and computer-based curricular materials; edits and formats materials to conform with standards and templates.

  • Collect evaluation and assessment data and runs routine reports; maintains gradebook and prepares grades for approval and final submission.

  • Coordinate financial transactions, including entering requisitions and expenses, processing expense reports, paying invoices, procuring supplies for the delivery of the curriculum, and transferring funds in accordance with department policy and procedure.

  • Assist with the management and control of the budget for curricular events. May prepare budgetary reports.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum four (4) years of curriculum coordinator experience, preferably in health sciences education


  • Bachelors degree or four (4) years of experience in a related field. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

  • Proficiency in the use of technology including Microsoft Office products, learning/content management systems, and web-conferencing tools; aptitude for learning new software.

  • Organized self-starter, with strong time management skills; detail-oriented.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
