Manager, Learning and Leadership Development

Description: Manages the operational aspects of the Learning and Leadership Development Department to include managing day-to-day operations and providing leadership and guidance to Learning Consultants. Oversees and leads the Regional 'Activate' Leadership Development program and manages all leadership development consultants aligned to the program. In addition to managing the program regionally, responsible for leading the national expansion efforts of the program.
Develops and/or approves content, methods and materials for training staff and may conduct courses. Develops methods for evaluation of program effectiveness. Develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Leads continuous improvement efforts and online systems support (website, KP Learn).


Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manages/leads Activate leadership program for SCAL region and leads National efforts for spread and scale.
  • Manages leadership development consultants responsible for the Activate program to include onboarding, performance management and development of consulting staff including monthly check ins and bi-weekly 1:1's with new consultants.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts to support existing learning and leadership development offerings and maintains and expand organizational systems
  • Oversees L&D budget and logistics aligned to Activate program
  • May contract with outside vendors in the development and conduct of training programs. Coordinates employee participation in outside vendor training


  • Basic Qualifications:
    Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of management experience leading a team of consultants and/or learning and development professionals.
  • Minimum twelve (12) years of experience in Learning and Development including leadership development or instructional design.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in leadership, learning, and design and delivery of programs.
    Education
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources/education or related field required.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A


    Additional Requirements:
  • Requires full knowledge of training and working knowledge of another functional area.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.


    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD preferred in organizational development, Organizational Behavior, organizational leadership, Psychology, Business or related field.
