- Evaluates,
and provides legal support relating to licensing board actions relating to
SCPMG physicians and Kaiser Permanente allied health practitioners - Provides
support to colleagues managing professional practice liability matters - Provides
legal advice and counsel to SCPMG physicians, executives, managers,
administrators and clinical staff concerning risk management matters and a
wide range of health care legal issues. - Reviews
and advises on new and proposed statutes and regulations with significant
impact on SCPMG; participates in and collaborates with regulatory and
legislative groups on behalf of SCPMG - Conducts
legal research, prepares legal documents including regulatory and
legislative summaries, and recommends courses of action to ensure
compliance - Provides
advice on proposed communications that present legal implications. - Contributes
to educational programs for SCPMG physicians and other employees on legal
issues pertaining to SCPMG and Kaiser Permanente.
External hires must pass a background check/drug screen. A national organization with practice groups in areas such as business, litigation, labor and employment, government programs, and liability, Kaiser Permanente's legal team provides advice and representation on a wide range of issues. In addition, counsels provide legal advice to management in each Kaiser Permanente region, and an Office of Board and Corporate Governance Services provides support to the Boards of Directors of Kaiser Permanente Hospitals and Health Plan and its subsidiaries.
