Supervise the Group and Provider Enrollment Unit's (GPEU) day to day operations.  Provide high quality and cost effective project management to help identify and resolve issues of strategic importance.
Oversee the process, workflow and work product of GPEU staff in the department.   Lead and develop team to support overall strategy, guidelines and procedures established for provider enrollment.  Lead the design, implementation and administration of system solutions to manage and track provider enrollment related processes.  Provide support to the leadership team with a focus on creating efficient solutions to solve for the current state while being mindful of long term departmental objectives.  Act as a liaison to project teams assigned to board support and GPEU initiatives while ensuring overall alignment of objectives and project milestones.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and provide direction to analytical support staff with respect to daily operations, prioritization of enrollment projects, operational standards and performance management.
  • Manage full range of project management components for the Group and Provider Enrollment Unit.
  • Ensure alignment with key stakeholders and project management teams assigned to GPEU initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to leadership team for allocation of resources and temporary staffing.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing new approaches for improved processes in order to achieve project milestones and business objectives.
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying alternative solutions to issues in projects and/or departmental processes. Provide recommendations to leadership team as needed in order to ensure successful completion of project milestones and departmental objectives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and revenue cycle impact to the organization, ensuring alignment within all components of the project lifecycle. Collaborates with leadership team to communicate possible compliance issues for resolution.
  • Facilitate and monitor internal processes to ensure provider enrollment is in sync with KFHP billing practices to maintain and ensure alignment with Fee-For-Service revenues to KP.
  • Responsible for ensuring that business processes for functional components of GPEU and provider enrollment database are current and adhered to by staff.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the provider enrollment database interface(s) to ensure correct provider billing data is being filtered to KP Health Connect.
  • Provide technical leadership to high visibility projects as needed for Permanente Human Resources leadership team and GPEU representation.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in project management within a healthcare environment.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience leading project management initiatives within a healthcare environment.
  • Education
  •  Bachelor's degree required, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • License, Certification, Registration

  • Additional Requirements:
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of provider enrollment processes preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
