Senior Consultant, Organizational Effectiveness, Portland

This position works under the direction of the Learning & OE Regional Manager with a dotted line to the Regional Director, LOE, and is responsible for supporting and executing a portfolio of OE/OD initiatives.  This position partners with LOE colleagues (Regional & Enterprise-wide), HR Business Partner(s), HR functional leads and staff, and regional leaders to provide strategic change and organizational optimization initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides organization effectiveness consulting services for strategic initiatives within assigned function. Serves as organization strategy and change consultant and content expert to leadership. Develops project structure, approach and work plan. Designs, develops, directs, and delivers organization change, organization design, and organization strategy and culture development programs.Provides coaching to senior leadership on organization-related issues. Provides change management strategies and tactics to enhance effective implementation of organization initiatives. Leads committees and work groups charged with implementing organization, department, or unit level improvement strategies. Monitors and measures effectiveness of programs and services delivered.Works on assignments of medium to large scope and complexity, impacting multiple functions, regions, or cross enterprise. Interprets less defined guidelines to make recommendations for process improvements and/or enhancements. Requires complex planning and coordination with other departments or resources. Provides leadership and mentoring to more junior OE consultants, HR colleagues, or other service functions as appropriate.  Provides infrastructure support within assigned function and broader HR function as assigned.

  • Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum six (6) years of relevant consulting experience to complex organizations.

  • Education

  • Master's degree in organization development, business administration, human resources management, or related field, OR six (6) years of experience in a directly related field.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

  • License, Certification, Registration

  • N/A

  • Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in behavioral sciences, organization development, leadership development, change management and culture change.

  • Knowledge of personality and social psychology, particularly in areas of motivation and change.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated political savvy and emotional intelligence.

  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of business operations, management practices and principles, and human resources management trends and practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis.

  • Demonstrated competency in large group facilitation and project management.

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex qualitative and quantitative date.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement innovative approaches.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate and design program/project work into appropriate frameworks, dashboards, and measurement tools for client and internal HR/OE use.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of/experience with at least two (2) of the following functional areas: business operations (finance, sales and marketing, information technology, operations, etc.) and/or clinical delivery services (ambulatory and primary care and/or hospitals).

  • PhD / Psy.D. in organization development, organizational behavior, leadership, or related fields.
