The Business Process Automation (BPA) team drives operational efficiency across Health Plan Products, Service, and Administration (HPPSA) by leveraging intelligent technology and the latest automation solutions like Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, etc. to automate and reduce manual processes across the organization.

The BPA Operations and Support Senior Manager is responsible for all day to day operations of the business process automation solutions developed for the HPPSA departments. This includes running and monitoring the bots as defined in service level agreements, providing operational forecasts and commitments, reporting out on business process automation performance, providing production support when unplanned outages occur, communicating planned outages and upgrades, implementing monitoring and alert automations, ensuring reliability, and optimizing bot performance to increase throughput.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Day to day operations management of all HPPSA business process automations in Production environments.

  • Establishing and managing policies, agile procedures, DevOps tools and best practices to ensure streamlined delivery, release management, high availability, back-up and recovery, quality controls, and monitoring capabilities across the AIS program.

  • Managing relationships and processes across AIS teams and HPPSA functions to validate, deploy and support BPA opportunities.

  • Partner closely with AIS, HPPSA, KPIT Leaders and off-shore vendors to ensure consistent operations of automations in alignment with expected SLAs.

  • Manage a team of Automation Processors/Engineers to drive resolution on alerts real time.

  • Leverage technology to continuously automate Production support activities.

  • Identifying and evaluating optimization opportunities for existing automations.

  • Communicating the status of Automations in Production and stabilization to appropriate stakeholders across HPPSA.

  • Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in Production support, automation technology, DevOps, technical consulting or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum four (4) years' experience with the full SDLC.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience managing a team in a fast-paced, agile & dynamic environment.

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in Agile delivery.

  • Education

  • Bachelor of Science in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

  • License, Certification, Registration

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of the full development lifecycle, developing detailed deployment, cutover and production support plans preferred.

  • Proven track record in software development with experience working in technically demanding environments preferred.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously preferred.

  • Experience measuring and monitoring availability, reliability, performance, latency and overall system health preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of build/release systems and process preferred.

  • Passionate about Continuous Build, Integration, Test, and Delivery systems preferred.

  • Extensive development experience working with modern scripting and programming languages like Go or Python preferred.

  • Experience interacting with and working on robotic process automation software, especially Blue Prism preferred.

  • Proven track record of improving Production Support methodology through innovative process and tools preferred.

  • Ability to lead war rooms and manage issue resolution preferred.

  • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment between off-shore and on-shore teams preferred.

  • Proven track record of using scalable best practices to expand technology teams and its capabilities preferred.

  • Ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple and logical manner preferred.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and decisions preferred.

  • Ability to be hands on with technology when required and ability to create (hands-on development) POC's preferred.

  • Advanced degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field or equivalent additional experience preferred.
