Configuration Analyst II

The candidate will understand the types of claim and membership systems data elements that need to be managed in the existing application HealthConnect & other platform applications to support the accurate & timely payment of claims and coverage information for the Regions' Claims systems. Works under direction of a Lead within a health care environment to support staff in the use of computer software applications including HealthConnect and related products. Coordinated data input, tracking, and evaluation of training implementation activities. Escalates system issues to the Lead. Provides problem solving and instruction for supporting the use of software applications. Identifies and triages problems and effectively communicates those problems to the appropriate resources. Ensures communication of the resolution to the end user.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide problem solving and instruction to software end users.

  • Create daily support status reports.

  • Explain/instruct end users regarding issue resolutions.

  • Operation of computer software applications including HealthConnect.

  • Analyze claim data to apply correct coverage.

  • Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a related field.

  • Education

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

  • License, Certification, Registration

  • N/A

  • Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, design, plan, organize, coordinate, implement, and perform necessary follow-up and closure procedures for system related deliverables.

  • Understand relational databases.

  • Strong experience in documentation, research and reporting.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, & listening skills.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel.

  • Understands needs of claims clients and relationships desired.

  • Beginner's proficiency in Access and Query tools.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in health insurance or managed care environment is desirable.

  • Experience in system and analysis preferred.

  • Experience on the host claims processing system, preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, health care or other applicable field preferred.
