Intern Job Description:

The position (part time, temporary) will require working in a hospital environment for three departments doing project work.  The work will be general administrative and require the ability to interface with all levels of staff with potential rounding of patients or members.  Position will report into the Public Affairs department. 


The intern will support day to day operations as well as special projects by performing administrative tasks and ensuring high quality customer service to our members and patients.  Duties will include but not limited to writing reports, news articles, analyzing statistical data, tracking projects and making recommendations if needed, interfacing with members or patients through rounding or surveys, working in the community at outreach events, manage inventory of products and possible interaction with clinical staff for special projects. 

The intern will perform various tasks daily and have the ability to multitask and prioritize. It is important that the intern be able to handle sensitive information confidentially.

The candidate for the position should have excellent organization and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently. 

The candidate needs to be in their first year in college or higher ideally pursuing a career in the medical field.

Ability to use Microsoft office applications Word, Excel, and Power Point required.  Prior experience working in a medical environment and social media experience or knowledge a plus.


**Internship is part-time (up to 20 hours per week) and 1 year in duration.

  • Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.
  • Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.
  • Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.
  • Job shadowing in other functional areas.

    • 3.0 GPA or above. 
    • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
