Description: Establish and maintain relationships with brokers and customers that support business strategies. Facilitate sales processes to include enrollment and implementation. Solve customer and broker problems. Ensure brokers are adhering to compliance requirements through ongoing outreach and monitoring. Build credibility with customers and brokers. Establish and maintain internal communications links to ensure timely and accurate problem resolution. Provide high quality customer/broker experience. Maintain effective relationships with brokers, KP employees and affiliated providers. Assist with new sales, retention and growth activity within KPWA's service area to achieve KP membership goals

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist in new individual and Medicare sales activity to achieve sales objectives.
  • Strategically builds and leverages established broker relationships to increase prospect and sales opportunities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Analyze customer/broker initiated inquiries and use appropriate resources to ensure satisfactory resolution.
  • Resolve customer/broker initiated issues/inquiries accurately and within specified time frame.
  • Use knowledge network (or other) resources to ensure successful resolution of customer/broker inquiries.
  • Effectively consult with customers/brokers to demonstrate value and commitment to KP.
  • Educate customers/brokers about optimal KP resources for problem resolution.
  • Demonstrate adequate product and service knowledge to effectively respond to client/broker inquiries.
  • Build and maintain broker/channel partnerships to increase business potential.
  • Works collaboratively with community influencers, KP medical offices administrators, brokers and KP employees toenhance knowledge and buying experience of prospective members.
  • Effectively communicate to all levels of management, peers, customers and brokers.
  • Communicates critical issues between sales and management.
  • Work with all KP departments to achieve a high level or customer/broker satisfaction.
  • Identify gaps in information provided and initiate process for updating.
  • Identify and report customer/broker trends to appropriate internal stakeholders for quality control and root cause analysis.

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimuim three (3) years of sales experience in a health care environment or other related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, business administration OR a minimum four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED) required.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • Washington Health Insurance agent license or must obtain within three (3) months of hire/transfer.
  • Annual Medicare Certification or must obtain within three (3) months of hire/transfer.

    Additional Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of insurance industry, HMO regulations including state and federal laws.
  • Demonstrated effective problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Time management, strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of the health insurance field, including sales processes.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office.
  • Ability to influence decision makers, and achieve individual goals and targets.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in sales in a health care environment or other related work experience.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in Lean concepts, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
