Description: The Marketing Manager contributes to overall department objectives/goals based on 'global knowledge' of industry and organizational strategic issues. The right person for this role: Proactively identifies key business/segment issues. Creates justification and makes recommendations/decisions on allocation of Market Strategy resources. Provides oversight, coaching & management to individual contributors (e.g. Writers and, Designers, Market Strategy Consultants, and vendors.) Provides management oversight and serves as subject matter/technical expert on multiple complex business processes (including but not limited to creative and writing, internal and external communications, events.)The Marketing Manager is an integral part of the overall Marketing team that oversees and/or leads major projects that inform the growth and market strategies essential to KP's revenue, membership and margin goals. We provide analytical/strategic-thinking and leadership skills that enable project teams to: 1) isolate business issues; 2) bring technical/content expertise (competitive intelligence, utilization, financial analysis, market research, deep data analysis & programming); 3) vet findings and make formal recommendations to senior levels of KP leadership; 4) review/approve strategic recommendations.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Designs and leads project teams (direct and indirect people management) to provide in-house marketing communication services for various business units within KPWA and its subsidiaries. Works collaboratively with various teams (e.g. strategy, project management, creative, and analytics) to develop concepts, tactics and design for print and digital content, including advertising, direct mail, print collateral, publications, web, event collateral. Ensures that creative supports strategic goals, is appropriate for the target audience, and is consistent with brand guidelines. Monitors project design teams to make sure budget, schedule and production quality standards are met.
  • Marketing Plan Execution: Manages direct reports, working collaboratively to achieve team objectives and providing coaching to support development. Supervises team on short term and long term objectives and tactics to carry out the strategic marketing plan. Establishes work plans and timelines, manages project budgets, and develops messaging frameworks in support of go-to-market tactics.
  • Marketing Plan Development: Partner with internal stakeholders to drive creation of 12- 18 month integrated marketing plans and activities based on business objectives. Lead the input and approval process of marketing plans/strategies/tactics and campaign execution across key stakeholders.
  • Reporting / Monitoring: Track and report effectiveness/results of marketing strategies, and recommendations for optimization

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum four (4) years of related experience in marketing and marketing communications.
  • Must possess solid command of multiple marketing communications disciplines (i.e., marketing research, branding, digital/web, campaign management, events, advertising, etc.)
  • Bachelors degree in english, communications or related field.

    Additional Requirements:
  • Presentation development skills including PowerPoint and online mediums with the ability to tell a concise, data-driven story to the target audience(s).
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively creating, implementing and measuring an integrated marketing plan and supporting change management processes that involve conveying complex concepts to a wide array of audiences.
  • Ability to shape and harness qualitative and quantitative research data to inform decision-making.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Capable of writing/creating compelling communication and content in various forms (e.g., messaging frameworks, customer-facing presentations)
  • Solid project management skills and experience managing and executing integrated marketing communications aligned against business goals and metrics.
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with a diverse range of cross-group partners and stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in health care, advertising and health insurance positions.
