The Sales Operations Manager report to the Director of Sales and Business Operations. This role will support and manage the team responsible for the customer facing roles of the sales operations team. These functions include proposal writing, performance guarantees, wellness solutions, and new sales implementations. In addition, the successful candidate will partner with Marketing to assist in executing on and managing of the sales and value proposition messages through presentations, sales collateral, RFP 'win themes', and the Executive Engagement Program. The manager will work closely with the Sales leadership, Sales staff and Marketing to help drive the strategies that are set for each line of business, with the messaging management and tactics to win and retain profitable business.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage proposal management staff and proposal content, RFPs, sales collateral (in coordination with Marketing), sales messaging and presentations for all lines of business in the Sales department.  This will include working with Sales leadership and Marketing to develop and present a clear value proposition and total cost of care message.

  • With a clear understanding of the sales process, will drive production/control of all presentations and group pricing proposals

  • Will coordinate and manage resources to respond to RFP ad RFI requests from prospective and current clients

    Will manage and drive the work related to the Washington Health Alliance and eValue8 requests for information

    Coordinate with Marketing and Product resources to assure that New Sales and Account Management proposals and presentation materials for all lines of business are updated and reflect current and correct product information.

  • Manage staff who execute with producers and customers the Employer Wellness

  • Solutions and Plan Performance Profile presentations

  • Support with the management of the Plan Performance Profile (PPP) process. This will include helping in assisting with medical staff and A&U staff who are integral partners of the PPP team.

  • Help with the creation of the messaging and presentations, to remain consistent with the enterprise and delivery system value propositions

  • Will support the Employer Wellness Solutions work, including vendor relationship, reporting, selling and value proposition messaging

  • Develop, manage, and operationalize a team that works closely with Sales Health Plan Administration and focuses on implementing new groups.

  • This will include both fully- and self-insured new business

  • Will partner with the Sales staff and leadership to create an implementation plan that is standard and capable, but meets each specific customers' needs

  • Will work closely with Health Plan Administration to ensure a smooth transition along the value stream

  • Develop, manage and operationalize the Executive Engagement Program in coordination with the Marketing and Sales teams.

  • Will be responsible for creating a work plan, standard work and tools to create an Executive Engagement program for the targeted account strategies

  • Train sales staff and leadership and executives on how to interact with customers and create common goals for the program and each client

  • Will work with staff and executives to drive the strategies set for the producers and clients.

  • Assist in the management of schedules and the follow up documentation of client visits

  • Will manage the pipeline of the groups in the targeted accounts to ensure the correct groups are identified, added and executed to the strategies and tactics for each identified group.

  • Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum five (5) years of management experience and experience as a proposal writer for a Sales department required.

  • Bachelor's degree OR combination of two (2) years of post-secondary education and two (2) years directly related experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products and Lotus Notes

  • Exceptional interpersonal communications (both verbal and written)

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) or more years experience as a proposal writer; experience in sales and marketing.

  • Knowledge of employee benefits, i.e. wellness and medical.
