INDIVIDUAL WILL LIKELY BE WORKING REMOTE UNDER TEMPORARY REMOTE WORK WHEN HIRED. IF/WHEN WE GO BACK INTO THE OFFICE, TRAVEL MAY BE REQUIRED FOR AN AUDIT.





Performs highly specialized, complex and difficult audit work, as well as provides direction for assigned staff auditors.





Essential Responsibilities:



  • Participates in the planning, scheduling & supervision of assigned audit projects. Executes multiple audit projects at one time. Leads the audit team in the completion of assigned projects.

  • Documents, reviews and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and their application in the financial systems and/or management operations. Conducts engagement risk assessment interviews to develop audit scope and procedures.

  • Reviews work quality of senior staff & staff auditors and provides input on Audit Staff performance on assigned projects. Ensures that workpapers contain adequate evidence to support audit findings. Reviews workpapers of audit team for accuracy & completeness.

  • Establishes and retains effective working relationships with other departments. Prepares accurate & timely written reports & makes oral presentations to management on findings & recommendations.

  • Assists in orientation, training and mentoring of Audit Services staff auditors when applicable.


Basic Qualifications:
Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional auditing or comparable industry experience.
  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, information systems or related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A

  • Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated senior auditing knowledge, experience in the principles and practices of auditing which would includes working knowledge of GAAS, GAAP, SOX and COSO frameworks.
  • Proficient project management, staff supervision and time management skills.
  • Proven skills in identifying and resolving business problems.
  • Ability to provide innovative & creative ideas to formulate new/improved audit approaches, tools & techniques.
  • Outstanding ability to research and identify best practices.
  • Ability to think independently, lead staff auditors, act decisively and be self directed.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent audit report writing.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Four (4) years of professional auditing experience in the health care or insurance industry.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); or Certified Informational Systems Auditor (CISA) is preferred by date of hire/transfer
  • Knowledgable of best practices within the Healthcare and Insurance industries.
  • Advanced knowledge of COSO, BASEL, COBIT and other enterprise risk management frameworks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean concepts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced data analytic software (ACL, IDEA) and continuous auditing methods.
  • Knowledgable of Healthcare and Insurance Industry regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with electronic audit workpapers.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, health care administration, or related field.
