Financial Planning Consultant (Risk Adjustment)

The Consultant provides strategic thinking, financial modeling, and project management skills to: 1) develop financial models in support of capital investment decisions to be made by regional/national leadership, 2) assist the region in understanding financial implications and trade-offs of strategic decisions; 3) evaluate potential partnership, new business models or investment opportunities; and 4) create presentations, models and other documents for a variety of regional and national audiences that support the region's strategic decisions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides analytical support in understanding and evaluating cost and benefit of various business proposals, and the profitability of various service areas or line of business within the region for critical decision making.
  • Develops financial models to support capital investment decisions.
  • Project manages multi-faceted projects and analyses across disciplines and functional areas. Assembles project teams, develops project schedules, and determines project team resources needed. Continuously monitors progress and metrics. Takes corrective actions that ensure successful achievement of project goals, including mitigation plans. Develops effective change management and communication strategies.
  • Participates in the planning and development of regional, departmental and/or functional area budgets, forecasts, and long range strategic plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum three (3) years of analytical experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) year of financial planning, Strategic planning or consulting experience required.

  • Bachelor's degree required, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytic skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to deliver executive-level presentations.
  • Proven track record of project management skills, successful execution of key organizational initiatives.
  • Demonstrated creativity in identifying and implementing solutions to complex, ambiguous issues.
  • Expert in using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
  • Ability to lead project teams and act as team player

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Master's in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field preferred.
