Medical Assistant

Description: Within a team environment, provides support for HCT providers during facility encounters manages patient traffic flow, performs follow-up care per provider instructions, and assists with patient education.

Essential Functions:
  • Medical records, specialist reports, conversations with patient) and integrates relative data to electronic record.
  • Assists in managing patient flow, concerns and information.
  • Pre-assesses patient by reviewing history, collecting current information and appropriate vital signs, documents in the medical record according to guidelines (e.g., hearing, vision, blood pressure).
  • Prepares room and patient for practitioner encounter.
  • Schedules appointments for patients with lab, radiology, consultants and follow-up appointments as ordered by practitioner.
  • Resolves patient concerns promptly.
  • Participates in process of interviewing, selection, orientation and training of new team members.
  • Maintains department Quality Improvement standards.
  • Daily cleaning and restocking of exam rooms with QI Logs checkoff.


  • Basic Qualifications:

    Education
  • High School diploma or GED.
    License, Certification, Registration
  • AAMA or AMT Certification required.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required.

    Additional Requirements:
  • Customer service aptitude demonstrated through Customer Service Assessment.
