Underwriting Coordinator II
Prepares data for evaluation by team. Supports team in identifying actionable data insights and irregularities. With guidance, uses models, tools, and assumptions, gathering information for documentation. Learns to work in support of department initiatives, program, and enterprise goals. Supports the development of rates and account plans that mitigate risk. Ensures accuracy of own work. Maintains compliance with relevant policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Works with others within work team to obtain and share basic information. Listens and addresses performance feedback; provides feedback to team members. Learns new relevant knowledge and skills; acknowledges strengths and weaknesses based on career goals and takes action to leverage / improve them. Adapts to change, challenges, and feedback with moderate guidance. Responds to the needs of others to support completion of routine work tasks.
- Follows detailed, daily instructions to complete routine tasks with moderate supervision. Collaborates with others within ones team to address routine and some non-routine task issues; communicates status and escalates more complex issues. Adheres to established priorities, deadlines, and expectations. Identifies and speaks up for improvement opportunities within ones team.
- Supports the analysis and reporting of data by: preparing data for evaluation to understand premium, claim, exposure, and inform understanding of population risk; leveraging a working understanding of relevant business practices when supporting team member efforts to evaluate credibility, utilization, and risk based on population size and prior predictive behavior of the pool/account; supporting the identification of actionable insights and potential data irregularities; with guidance, applying relevant processes and procedures to use models (e.g., rate models and benefit pricing tools) and data analytics tools that support the analysis of business strategy and financial/underwriting risk management; and gathering information for the documentation of models, tools, assumptions, and data elements.
- Assists with case and underwriting work by: supporting account activities (e.g., running reports, re-quotes, investments, sold rates) for customers and/or book of business under supervision; supporting the development of rates following established methodologies and protocols to appropriately mitigate risk for the organization and optimize sustainable membership growth; completing routine and varied tasks to support the teams execution of a business plan that addresses threats and opportunities to ensure attainment of goals in collaboration with Sales and Account Management; and supporting Underwritings partnership in the creation of effective business solutions.
- Supports goals, initiatives, and program development efforts by: learning to execute work in support of department initiatives, program goals, and enterprise goals.
- Supports compliance efforts by: ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of own work; follows detailed instructions to appropriately document case approvals and any policy exceptions and investments, as requested; and maintaining awareness of and compliance with all relevant policies, guidelines, and procedures, applying them to their own work.

- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent OR Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a corporate or business office environment.
