Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, ensures that all menus and nourishment conform with special requirements of patients, keep all patients current and accurate; orders all expendable office items and patient selective menus; calls in daily food orders as requested; notifies proper people in emergencies, Checks patient trayline to ensure diet accuracy; direct patient contact for tray passing; menu and data collections, Also performs a variety of routine office clerical tasks such as photocopying, data entry, cash reconciliation etc.

Essential Responsibilities:

Upholds Kaiser Permanentes Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws.  Calls in staff to cover unscheduled absences. Assembles and checks patient trays to ensure product quality, accuracy of food on the tray based on patients menu, attractiveness and neatness. Maintains accuracy of patients profile card via KPDS Diet Order or telephone call from authorized individuals; makes appropriate changes in patients profile card; retains profile cards current in cardex until patient is discharged. Does data entry on select menus.  Sets aside menus for specials diet that needs the attention of the Diet Technician or Dietitian. Passes and retrieves select menus.  Takes information on food likes, dislikes and allergies from patients and input into CBORD. Prints Diet List for menu pickup.  Staff members will use it as a guide when picking up menus.  Prints tally, updated tally, menus, tray tickets for each meal.  Prints no order list and calls RN for follow-up.  Prints nourishments. Assembles and delivers patient late trays and nourishments. Inventories and initiates requisition for replenishment of expendable supplies.  Photocopies appropriate forms. Does register Z reading.  Counts and balances moneybox, deposit bags, Complete Cashiers Worksheet and Deposit slip.  Updates Cashier over/under log.  Takes deposits to business office and get change.  Puts away moneybox that is turned in by Cashier at the end of their shift.  Assists in data entry-post invoices, floor stocks, sales sums. Logs attendance on education and other departmental meetings and file.  Logs time and attendance records. Distributes mail for the department.  Picks up catering changes and delivers to YY. Maintains assigned work area in an organized and clean condition and ensures orderly storage of all incoming office supplies. Establishes and maintains courteous cooperation relations when interacting with personnel in the department and other departments.  Health Plan members and the public. Performs other related duties as required. Promotes, ensures and improves customer service to internal/external customer s by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality service.   Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
  • Six (6) months experience in high volume food service environment with six (6) months experience cashiering required.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationship and courteous interaction with public and co-workers.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. And pull carts weighing 100 lbs.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language
