Sales Associate I - Sales & Account Management
Prepares resources for others to leverage when identifying appropriate solutions to meet lead/prospect/customer needs and utilizes basic knowledge to address lead/prospect/customer questions in issues in a timely manner. Supports the generation of prospective sales by following well-defined procedures to assist others in prospecting, sourcing, developing, and maximizing referral networks. Locates information used for developing sales strategy, documents data for sales status reports, and learns common processes for applying research and information on health care to help others articulate internal sales strategies and drive external sales. Supports data collection on trends related to sales strategy and follows clearly defined procedures to accomplish sales plans and help drive internal negotiations and sales strategy. Assists others in identifying resources, including following through on intended outcomes, to achieve or support sales targets/goals/initiatives. Advocates for process improvement by following well-defined procedures to support others in identifying and implementing initiatives for overcoming obstacles to sales progress and ensuring objectives are met, identifying new and improving existing process-related initiatives, resolving risks to compliance, and tracking and articulating performance trends and updates, with well-defined, specific instructions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Works with others within immediate work group to obtain basic information. Listens to and addresses performance feedback. Learns fundamental knowledge and skills; acknowledges strengths and weaknesses. Adapts to change and feedback with significant guidance. Responds to the needs of others as directed to support completion of routine work tasks.
- Follows clearly defined procedures and well-defined, specific instructions to complete routine tasks with significant guidance. Collaborates with others within ones team to address basic task issues; communicates status and escalates more complex issues. Adheres to established processes, procedures, and deadlines, with guidance. Identifies and speaks up for improvement opportunities within own work.
- Ensures a high level of customer service is provided by: preparing resources for others to leverage to identify appropriate solutions based on lead/prospect/customer needs in fulfillment of performance and service quality goals, as well as the KP mission, with well-defined instructions; demonstrating commonly used, essential knowledge about various health plans and benefits to leads/prospects/customers and brokers/consultants to convey KPs unique value proposition; and utilizing basic knowledge to address lead/prospect/customer questions or issues in a timely manner.
- Serves as an advocate for process improvement by: reviewing well-defined set of procedures to support others for overcoming obstacles to sales initiative progress and ensuring objectives are met on time and/or within budget with significant guidance; participating in sales support by working alongside work groups, as selected, to meet department objectives, and support the identification of new and improve existing process-related initiatives, systems, and practices with a close degree of supervision and following clearly defined procedures; following clearly defined procedures for the continuous improvement of tools, technology, and processes to optimize effectiveness; learning common Federal and State laws, regulations, contracts, and rulings, recording and escalating issues or risks to compliance; demonstrating commonly used, essential processes to track performance trends and articulate the performance update consistent with the strategy, along with story behind what is occurring, with significant guidance; and following commonly used, essential processes to assist with group installation and/or member enrollment processing to ensure that all critical milestones are met.
- Generates prospective sales by: supporting others in the organization of open enrollment events, and gathering material for formal presentations to prospective customers following specific instructions; following a well-defined set of procedures to support others in building relationships with key influencers, brokers, consultants, decision makers, and/or community groups to support new business opportunities and prospective customers; learning commonly used, essential practices on prospecting, sourcing, and developing and maximizing referral networks to build own book of business; processing and/or completing basic materials/forms for incoming business opportunities with significant guidance; following well-defined set of procedures to help partners work with key influencers, brokers, consultants, decision makers, and/or community groups and successfully win new customers by conveying the value of enrollment, following specific instructions; and working on tasks as assigned to support and use new applicable and relevant resources such as the sales database, reports, media, and industry intelligence, on sales prospects with a close degree of supervision, and providing updates to the team.
- Contributes to strategic development by: locating information for colleagues to leverage when developing strategy to meet annual sales targets, goals, and initiatives; documenting data for sales status reports including sales activity, follow-up, closings, and target achievement; learning commonly used, essential processes for applying research and information on the health care marketplace to help others articulate internal sales strategies and drive external sales; supporting the immediate work group to support data collection on competitor, customer, and industry trends related to sales strategy; following clearly defined procedures for using sales performance data to maximize performance and develop territory insights and sales strategies to accomplish sales plans; and following clearly defined procedures on optimal offering conditions and/or market segmentation (e.g., benefits, pricing) to help drive internal negotiations and sales strategy.
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent OR minimum one (1) year of experience working in a corporate or business office environment, which can include relevant internship experience.
- Accident and Health or Sickness Insurance License (Hawaii) within 3 months of hire
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Compliance Management; Interpersonal Skills; Relationship Building; Coordination; Accountability; Adaptability; Microsoft Office; Advising and Managing Partners; Goal Setting
- Health Insurance License in state(s) where applicable.
