Department Details:
National Provider Data Management is a shared service within National Health Plan, established to consistently meet provider data and network information requirements through common business processes, technology solutions and decision-making tools that meet the needs of our members, markets and regulators. Our work spans provider data systems strategy and ownership, strategic network planning, analysis and network reporting, measuring and improving provider data quality, setting priorities for our member-facing provider directories, partnering with market leaders, national products and national contracting on expansions and major system implementations, provider data operations and provider experience initiatives. NPDM works with the Permanente Medical Groups and Health Plans in all KP markets.
Internship Projects:
National Provider Data Management is accountable for several strategic initiatives for NHP. These include setting and implementing our national directory strategy, transitioning new markets onto NHP capabilities and platforms, implementing process, systems and tools to address critical regulatory requirements and more. Depending upon start date, our intern will take accountability for a body of work within one of these projects.

Data System Understanding: Familiarity with how an organized collection of hardware, software, and processes work together to capture, store, process, and deliver information, encompassing its components (like databases, pipelines), functions (analytics, operations), quality, and business context.

- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- 3.0 GPA or above
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
