Government Relations Consultant V, Regulatory Services, Investigations and Enforcement
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is also responsible for driving the coordination of KFHPs licenses to business in each region and providing guidance on critical licensure issues in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations; providing input to help influence regulatory development in accordance with state laws, regulations, and subregulations; developing and implementing regulatory engagement strategies to advance KPs positions on regulatory issues and strategic objectives; partipcating in KP regulatory activities, managing relationships, and driving consistent messaging with state regulators in each KP region; collaborating with internal stakeholders to advise on regulatory updates and issues and gain support for regulatory initiatives; building and maintaining relationships in industry meetings and external forums to advocate on key regulatory issues and the interests of KP; drafting written comments and/or oral testimony on regulatory policy issues; implementing newly enacted state laws and regulations; proactively monitoring filings that reflect KP changes across lines of business; and developing proactive regulatory strategies to support membership growth.

- Promotes KPs interests by: establishing and maintaining effective relationships with elected and appointed officials, policymakers, trade associations, and other groups; communicating with and influencing key external stakeholders on KP independent of supervision; influencing strategic partners to take positions consistent with KP independently; and serving as a liaison and representative of KP independent of supervision.
- Partners with internal stakeholders on government relations by: advising key internal stakeholders and senior leadership on developments in legislation, regulations, legal proposals, public policy, key personnel changes, national/state/local issues; identifying approaches and solutions to key issues; leading planning efforts and response to proposed legislation, regulations, legal proposals, public policy, national/state/local issues; and providing recommendations and ensuring communication of positioning to internal audiences.

- Minimum four (4) years of experience in legislative, regulatory, or government relations at the local, state, or federal level, health policy, communications, public affairs, or a directly related field.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND Minimum seven (7) years of professional experience (includes internship and unpaid work experience) OR Minimum ten (10) years of experience in legislative, regulatory, or government relations at the local, state, or federal level, health policy, communications, public affairs, or a directly related field.
- Master's from an accredited college or university.
