Storeroom Worker/Driver
- Inventories stock areas, receives requisitions, pulls supplies, loads merchandise onto vehicle, transports and delivers to various locations and departments; picks up supplies and equipment for return to the medical center. Performs routine maintenance on vehicle.
Provides delivery service within assigned medical center by loading packaged merchandise onto vehicle; assures proper and secure placement of items to ensure safe and convenient delivery. May utilize equipment for loading and unloading such as pallet jack, dolly and hydraulic lifter. Operates company vehicle in compliance with established procedures and the laws of the Motor Vehicle Code. Delivers merchandise to various medical center locations; obtains signature of receiving party for merchandise delivered ad notes any discrepancies between amounts listed and received. Maintains delivery records/issues logs for items delivered to users or transferred between primary and secondary locations. Picks up and delivers clean and soiled linen (including doctors coats) and central service instruments between facilities. Picks up merchandise designated for return to the storeroom; unload returned merchandise. Inventories and completes accurate inventory records to maintain pre-established par levels. Stocks shelves for par replenishment. Inspects vehicles for any malfunctions. Checks oil, water and gad levels; checks tires for inflation. Performs other safety checks. Maintains maintenance records on vehicle. Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations with Health Plan members, the public, and other personnel. Performs other related duties ad required including duties of storeroom worker. Stocks, inventories, and cleans and restocks par level locations and medical supply carts to designated levels. Prepares items for transfer between primary and secondary locations using picking tickets. Verifies unit of issue. Operates company vehicle in compliance with established procedures and the law of the Motor Vehicle Code. Transports medical supply carts between medical center departments a storeroom area. Transports patients within the medical center. Maintains request and log sheet for all patient transports. Determines availability of stock; fills orders and delivers to medical center departments; ma suggest substitute items. Maintains and completes accurate inventory records of supply issues for clerical input automated material Management Systems. Assists with shipping and receiving activities, such as receiving and checking incoming deliveries; unloading delivery trucks and transporting merchandise to designated areas. Unpacks and stores incoming material and prepares for delivery to users; stages deliveries to off-site locations. Assists with telephones and telephone requests for supplies. Responds to stat requests for medical supplies and equipment as required. Stores and rotates materials that require special handling (e.g., x-ray film). Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel, health plan members, and the public. Performs other related duties as required. Promotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality service.
- Must attach a current CQA driver record information sheet, obtained within the last month.
- During the two year period immediately preceding the data of application, must have a driving record which is free of incidents involving the applicants negligence. Also free of citation with forfeit for bail for driving while under the influence of drugs or reckless driving. Driving record must not reflect more than two moving violations during the same two-year period. License and driving record will be verified.
- Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of medical supplies inventory stocking practice, receiving functions, exchange cart and par level supply systems required. Two (2) years of health care storeroom experience preferred.
- Must be able to lift in excess of 60 lbs. and move in excess of 300lbs. with material handling equipment.
