VP, Care at Home
Under the direction of the Southern California/Hawaii market Sr. Vice President of Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical Operations Support, this position is responsible for the strategic development, planning, management, operational execution, and integration of Southern California and Hawaii KFHP/KFH “Kaiser Permanente Care @ Home” service line. This service line includes the following services: home health, hospice, palliative care, acute hospital care at home, durable medical equipment program, and medical transportation for the care delivery services provided within the SCAL/Hawaii market.
- Strategic planning, both long term and short term, for the KP Care at Home services and products across the SCAL and Hawaii market
- Strategic market integration of the KP Care at Home shared services model within SCAL, Hawaii, and our external KP partners
- Develops and leads the KP Care at Home service line operations including strategic planning, operational execution, cost and quality evaluation, and workforce management
- Leads the strategic oversight, planning, operational performance, and relationship management for our external home health, hospice, palliative care, and durable medical equipment partners (external partners exceed 100 different contracts)
- Accountability for efficiency, cost and care effectiveness, safety, and quality performance all of the KP Care at Home services
- Strategic leadership, management, and development of the financial planning and operational monitoring of budgets associated with KP Care at Home
- Leads, monitors, and course corrects Medicare fee for service billing practices
- Strategic leadership for program development of KP Care at Home service line as opportunities and needs of the SCAL/Hawaii markets evolve
- Strategic workforce management of the skills and expertise of staff needed to execute on the strategic and operational plans of KP Care at Home
- The VP of KP Care at Home will lead, partner, and participate in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan/Hospital Oversight activities to ensure systems, processes, resources, expertise, and measurements are in place to provide ongoing support of quality, safety, and regulatory oversight activities
- Strategic and operational partnerships for the KP Care at Home service line with our Permanente Medical Group leaders, Enterprise and Market leaders across program, and external leaders to ensure safe, reliable, and accessible care is available for all who need our services
- Participation in Enterprise Leadership committees including: Enterprise Continuum Leadership Committee;Enterprise KP Care at Home leadership committee
- Minimum ten (10) years relevant and progressive management experience.
- Master-s degree in Nursing, Health Services or Business Administration, Public Health, Finance, or related discipline such as Public Administration required.

- Demonstrated ability to perform strategic planning, implementation, evaluation, and course correction processes and systems that deliver health care services
- Experience with budgeting and financial management
- Ability to demonstrate communication, presentation, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change using interpersonal skills such as negotiating, collaborating, influencing
- Strategic leadership knowledge of quality assurance, quality improvement, resource management, health plan regulatory and licensing processes
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results on both a strategic and operational level performance
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
