Investments Analyst IV, Front Office

- Completes work assignments autonomously and supports business-specific projects by applying expertise in subject area and business knowledge to generate creative solutions; encourages team members to adapt to and follow all procedures and policies. - Conducts comprehensive investment research and analysis by assisting with the sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, and monitoring of new investment managers and opportunities across multiple asset classes; preparing analytical models and reports to evaluate investment performance, risks, and exposures; analyzing financial, economic, and market data to support investment decisions; performing comprehensive analyses of investment strategies, processes, track records, risk factors, and organizational structures; conducting quantitative and qualitative research on existing and prospective investment managers/funds to maintain the investment pipeline and manager database; developing investment recommendations, proposals, and investment memoranda; conducting reference checks and in-depth interviews with investment managers; and monitoring the performance of existing managers and their underlying portfolio positions to identify concerns or opportunities as part of the continual manager re-underwriting process.
- Monitors managers and portfolios on a continuous basis by reviewing manager reports, portfolio performance, attribution, exposures, and risk metrics; preparing comprehensive portfolio reviews and investment recommendations; producing high-quality materials for Investment Committee presentations and reporting; assisting in developing and enhancing portfolio analytics and reporting capabilities; monitoring portfolio compliance with investment policies and guidelines; identifying portfolio imbalances, inefficiencies, and risks to improve portfolio structure; maintaining processes to optimize investment workflows and risk management; monitoring GP communications; engaging in update calls and annual meetings; preparing meeting briefs and follow-up notes; and contributing to the resolution of any internal or external reporting issues.
- Executes process management by monitoring diligence checklists; coordinating and working across internal teams (e.g., legal, accounting, and operations); maintaining diligence timelines; updating data files and organizing project documents related to due diligence and monitoring; contributing to fund documentation review and investment execution; collaborating with the operations group to manage cash flows including capital calls and distributions; supporting the incorporation of third party software services and data into the process; and ensuring accuracy.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory, statutory, and legal controls by following policies and procedures to achieve compliance and control objectives (e.g., investment guidelines, financial commitments, etc.); understanding requirements of internal and external investment review process; organizing project documents; and ensuring accuracy of CRM entries.
- Supports strategic portfolio management by contributing to asset allocation discussions and portfolio construction; engaging in special research projects on market trends, investment strategies, and asset classes; staying current on new investment products, strategies, managers, and opportunities; preparing summary decks and analyses for team discussions; producing high quality materials for Investment Committee presentations and reporting; and assisting in developing and enhancing portfolio analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Supports the development of an investment team by mentoring junior analysts to support professional development; providing guidance on projects and analyses; collaborating with more senior team members to refine investment strategies; engaging in manager meetings and presentations, cross-asset class meetings, and Investment Committee meetings as needed; representing the organization at industry conferences and networking events; forming and maintaining relationships with peer institutions, investment managers, and industry contacts to enhance KPs ability to source and oversee investment opportunities; and supporting process improvements and best practices implementation.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Applied Mathematics, or related field AND minimum five (5) years of experience in investment, consulting, banking, or a directly related field.
- Minimum one (1) year of leadership experience with or without direct reports.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working across one or more of the following areas: multiple asset classes, portfolio construction, investment strategy development, or risk management.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with successful investment decisions through complete market cycles and developing recommendations.
- Minimum three (3) years experience working with financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Master's degree in Business, Finance or related field.
- PhD in Business, Finance or related field.
