Job Summary:
This individual contributor position is responsible for administering physician benefits programs; executing benefits transactions; providing auditing, quality assurance, and compliance support; and collaborating with vendors, technical contacts, and management to resolve complex issues and implement new benefit programs.  This includes providing exceptional customer support directly to physicians; communicating program terms to physicians, management, and vendors; and collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to meet strategic departmental and organizational goals. This position is also responsible for supporting the review and evaluation of new and existing programs or initiatives; and collaborating with management and key stakeholders in system and interface design, implementations, enhancements, and continuous improvements.  This includes performing benefits and financial analyses to inform decision-making and drive quality financial outcomes; and maintaining compliance with policies and procedures to meet operational needs for new and existing initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Executes benefits transactions by responding to inquiries from physicians, vendors, or other key stakeholders; verifying appropriate benefit offerings based on eligibility requirements; providing auditing, quality assurance, and compliance support; driving open enrollment and other enrollments related to status changes; resolving physician, vendor, and legal issues; and collaborating with vendors, technical contacts, and management to resolve complex issues and implement new benefit programs.
  • Performs benefits and financial analyses by reviewing data to explain financial results and inform decision-making; responding to ad hoc request for analysis; understanding and applying data gathering methods; and ensuring the quality and completeness of work deliverables.
  • Provides exceptional customer support directly to physicians by ensuring the highest quality, one-touch, full-cycle customer service; understanding and anticipating client needs; solving and/or escalating complex problems as appropriate; minimizing follow-up; and maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Communicates program terms to physicians, management, and vendors by presenting conclusions about areas of accountability and financial sustainability to management in verbal and written form; documenting positions and processes in support of process improvement and knowledge retention; and providing technical explanations and recommendations to management, in furtherance of program initiatives.
  • Administers programs by executing complex program processes leading to a complete set of accurate program documents in accordance with company policies and procedures; maintaining program activities and documentation; and collaborating with stakeholders and vendors meet strategic departmental and organizational goals.
  • Supports the review and evaluation of new and existing programs or initiatives by preparing, coordinating, and reviewing program resources and documentation to facilitate management analysis and review.
  • Collaborates with management and key stakeholders in system and interface design, implementations, enhancements, and continuous improvements by understanding flow of transactions through source systems; validating ongoing configuration decisions; and reviewing systems in area of expertise to recommend upgrades for enhanced reporting and data-driven decision making.
  • Assists in the development of and maintains compliance with policies and procedures to meet operational needs for new and existing initiatives in collaboration with management and key stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of senior level benefits administration experience, including working with an HRIS.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience working with Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Science, Public Administration or related field and Minimum two (2) years experience in human resources.  Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years experience working with ERISA benefit plans.
  • Three (3) years work experience requiring data analysis and reporting.
