Senior IT Full Stack Engineer IV (Node.js / React / Next.js)
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong expertise in both front-end and back-end web development. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Node.js, React/Next.js, Express.js, and Jest, and is comfortable working across the full application stack using GitHub and Azure.
This role is responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of production applications. The Senior Full Stack Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders and team members to build scalable solutions, implement high-quality code, and contribute to architectural and technical decisions. Additional responsibilities include participating in an on-call rotation, supporting production issues, contributing to release testing, automation, technical documentation, and assisting with release planning and deployment activities.
Candidates should possess SQL knowledge beyond the basics, though deep database specialization is not required. Experience should include writing and optimizing queries and a solid understanding of stored procedures, views, and functions. Experience working with relational databases in a production environment is preferred.

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this senior individual contributor position is also responsible for the development of internet applications and software tools. This includes working with product teams to understand and contribute to defining the product vision, and developing and supporting end-to-end solutions including architecting, designing, developing, and testing member-facing applications/systems using cloud, content management systems (CMS) and traditional integrations. This position is also responsible for performing hands-on development of cloud applications, CMS, and integration solutions on a variety of platforms; researching and resolving technical issues and recommending appropriate interventions/modifications as needed; and ensuring work processes and products meet KP IT security and development standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Completes work assignments and supports business-specific projects by applying expertise in subject area; supporting the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; ensuring team follows all procedures and policies; coordinating and assigning resources to accomplish priorities and deadlines; collaborating cross-functionally to make effective business decisions; solving complex problems; escalating high priority issues or risks, as appropriate; and recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and four (4) years experience in software development or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Minimum three (3) years experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions development life cycles (e.g., SDLC).
- Minimum one (1) year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Minimum two (2) years experience developing and/or implementing web-based applications.
- Minimum two (2) years experience in developing and utilizing cloud based technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Minimum two (2) years experience working with web application frameworks (e.g., Angular, HTML5, CSS, GraphQL, etc.)
- Two (2) years experience developing micro services and APIs (e.g., Java, Node.js, NoSQL DBs, etc.).
- Three (3) years experience in utilizing DevSecOps practices (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Mavin, SonarQube, etc.)
