VP, Affiliates Technology Services
The Vice President, Data & Analytics, AI/ML Technologies & Corporate IT provides unified executive leadership across affiliates enterprise data, artificial intelligence, and corporate IT functions serving its RHOs. Reporting to SVP, Affiliate Strategy and Services, this role sets and executes the strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap for the federated data platform, the enterprise AI/ML portfolio, and shared corporate IT services.
The role ensures affiliates foster and accelerates the adoption of AI use cases, TCOC models, insights from aggregated data across diverse, pluralistic, community-based health systems nationwide by delivering organization-agnostic, bi-directional solutions that can be deployed at both the affiliates enterprise level and the local affiliate level. The incumbent ensures alignment of all technology, development, and third-party products with enterprise architecture, standards, security, and design principles.
As a member of the EBS/IT senior leadership team, and as a peer to the VP, EBS/IT and Value-based Platform, the incumbent serves as the senior technology counterpart to RHO Chief Data Officers, CTOs, and senior business leaders; leads the technology workstream for affiliate onboarding and M&A activity; and ensures all three pillars operate to common standards, governance, and design principles.
- Strategic Leadership
- Vision & roadmap - This role provides visionary leadership for data, analytics, AI, and corporate IT solutions, sets high delivery and quality goals; promotes innovation in emerging technologies; and create a joint multi-year technology roadmap aligned to affiliate and KP IT strategies and business value.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Effective stakeholder engagement is essential. The VP consistently works with other departments to understand their needs and align support technical and engineering services with organizational goals. The VP communicates clearly with stakeholders and collaborates to develop a multi-year strategy that aligns with broader organizational objectives. They gather feedback to ensure they can meet expectations and contribute to the affiliates overall success.
- Enterprise alignment - Ensure alignment of all technology, development, and third-party products with enterprise architecture, security, standards, and design principles.
- Data & Analytics
- Enterprise data platform - Own the design, development, and management of the Data Intelligence & Analytics Platform (Innovaccer) and the enterprise data strategy across affiliates.
- Federated data architecture - Lead a federated data architecture (medallion / Delta Share) enabling secure, governed data sharing across RHOs while respecting local data sovereignty.
- Data governance - Establish and operate enterprise data governance - governance council, policies and standards, stewardship, critical-data-element definitions, and PHI/PII and regulatory controls.
- Analytics-product alignment - Partner with VBP Product Engineering to align analytics roadmaps, data models, and reporting with the expanding Value-Based Platform portfolio and value-based care measurement needs.
- RHO data alignment - Influence and align RHO data executives (Chief Data Officers, Executive Directors of Data, VPs of Data & Analytics) on shared definitions, interoperable architecture, and consistent data strategy.
- AI / ML Technologies
- Enterprise AI portfolio - Own the affiliates AI portfolio and strategy across the AI Orchestration Platform, Shared Intelligence Platform, and Epic AI Playbooks.
- Vision & guiding principles - Define the vision, goals, and guiding principles for AI/ML solutions and advanced-technology enablement across affiliates.
- AI/ML governance - Establish and operate AI/ML governance - model risk, responsible/ethical AI, evaluation and monitoring, and vendor AI assessment - in partnership with clinical, privacy, security, and legal leaders.
- Solution delivery - Guide, propose, and deliver AI solutions supporting VBP and Affiliate Services to improve clinician and operational efficiency, staying current on emerging technologies and industry best practice.
- Enterprise & KP AI councils - Engage enterprise and KP Gen AI councils to ensure affiliates AI strategy aligns with broader organizational direction.
- Evaluate vendor solution for best business fit
- Create Agentic AI strategy using best of KP assets
- Corporate IT Services
- End-user services architecture - Develop and drive the architectural strategy and multi-year roadmap for End-User Services platforms - email, endpoint, network, and collaboration technologies - aligned to enterprise standards.
- Endpoint & release engineering - Oversee endpoint device design and engineering, application/patch packaging, and release management validated through rigorous QA.
- Application rationalization & identity - Manage application rationalization and automation (e.g., Workday) and partner on Active Directory / identity and access management architecture and integration standards.
- Interoperability & integration - Ensure secure integration across affiliate environments - including an interoperability layer bridging Epic and non-Epic EMRs - in partnership with KP infrastructure, cloud, and identity teams.
- Resource prioritization - Ensure effective prioritization and allocation of resources across projects and programs, rebalancing as needed.
- Affiliate Onboarding, M&A & Cross-Enterprise Leadership
- Primary technology lead for M&A - Serve as the primary technology leader for merger, acquisition, and affiliate-setup activities across all three pillars - data onboarding and governance, AI enablement, and corporate IT setup (onboarding, contract optimization, enterprise tool/suite implementation).
- KP-IT partnership - Engage KP-IT partner teams (Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Platform Engineering, Data & Analytics, TRO) at the Senior Director / Executive Director level to influence platform direction and secure alignment on shared infrastructure and standards.
- Bi-directional solutions - Bridge relationships across KP and the affiliates to ensure pluralistic, bi-directional solutions - deployable at both enterprise and local affiliate levels - versus point-to-point integrations.
- Financial, Contract & Vendor Management
- Vendor governance - Lead vendor governance and contract optimization across data, AI, and IT platforms - participating in RFPs and, with KP Sourcing, securing optimal contracts and pricing; influencing vendor roadmaps to benefit the affiliates.
- Investment management - Own strategy, scope, financial management, schedule, delivery, and business-value outcomes for major technology investment programs, including technology assessments, down-selection, and proofs of concept.
- Offshore governance - Oversee and govern on/offshore service-delivery organizations, optimizing resources and cost efficiency. Be responsible for leveraging GCC in Pune, India and Costa Rica to set up teams across the 3 pillars.
- People Leadership & Process Improvement
- People leadership - Lead and develop at least three functional leaders - the Director, Data & Analytics; Senior Director, AI/ML Technologies; and Director, Corporate IT - providing execution oversight for their teams across FTE and SoW resources, and coaching directs to ensure a strong succession plan. As affiliates grow this organization will scale to meet demand. The team comprises a cross-functional group of data engineers, analysts, AI experts and corporate solution platform experts who design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient solutions with defined value. The leader ensures consistent performance, cost optimization, automation, and compliance across the enterprise and across the affiliate organizations. The VP will have a proven track record to lead teams that will build on an Azure platform, databricks , approved LLMs,,APIs, devsecops etc and integrate across the affiliates. Be able to build solutions related to improving clinician and operational efficiency and proving valuable operational insights based on data agreegation.
- Process improvement - Continually enhance processes to accelerate delivery and quality, optimizing resources and cost efficiencies across FTE, contractor, affiliate, and third-party arrangements.
- Innovation & culture - Advocate innovative solutions to complex challenges, foster a culture of agility and learning, and drive the organizations progressive evolution.
- Minimum ten (10) years of senior-level leadership experience, including significant success managing complex, multi-function and/or multi-business-unit initiatives in a corporate setting
- Minimum ten (10) years of partnering with enterprise architecture governance boards
- Minimum five (5) years at the executive level.
- Minimum twelve (12) years across data, analytics, AI/ML, and/or enterprise IT, including architecture and delivery leadership at scale.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field required.

- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise data platforms and modern data architecture (medallion / lakehouse, Delta Share; e.g., Innovaccer, Databricks) and highly available distributed systems.
- Experience building and governing enterprise AI/ML portfolios and responsible-AI practices.
- Experience leading corporate / end-user IT services (endpoint, identity, collaboration, application rationalization) and cloud-native delivery (Azure/AKS, APIs, DevSecOps).
- Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and consensus without formal authority.
- Demonstrated technology leadership on M&A / integration activities; strong vendor and contract-negotiation experience.
- Ambitious, pioneering leader with strong business acumen, a data-driven and agile mindset, and a track record of developing people.
- Healthcare and value-based care experience are strongly preferred.
- Masters degree preferred.
