Centrex Operator
Under indirect supervision receives incoming calls; pages medical center personnel on request; maintains various records as required.

- Receives & routes incoming calls to appropriate stations
- Pages medical center personnel
- Records & processes request for telephone equipment repairs
- Serves as central communications point for all in-house emergencies; i.e., Code Red & Code Blue
- Responds to callers inquires following established procedures & policies
- Performs various clerical duties such as maintain current reference of patients location, listing of on-call personnel & listing of beeper personnel
- Announces appropriate & urgent messages as approved by supervisor over paging system
- Performs other related duties, as required, such as but not limited to operate Health Phone & monitor administrative disaster system
- Assume other activities & responsibilities from time to time as directed
• Typing 25 wpm required

- • Previous experience as a telephone operator preferred
- Must be computer literate and be willing to work in a 24hr department between all shift's mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Notes:
- Schedule to include all shifts, rotating weekends, holidays, and floating within the established seniority section.
