Job Summary:

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is also responsible for serving as the project manager working in coordination with other project managers and the principal investigator of research projects of low to medium complexity; learning best practices and/or collaborating on the development, preparation, and timely submission of proposals, with oversight; monitoring and managing resources and/or budgets for research projects; managing the execution of research studies including data gathering activities; ensuring compliance with local, federal, and industry requirements, as well as adherence to grant/contract and regulatory requirements; developing and implementing basic research protocols; drafting study materials and Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications; identifying training needs while assisting in creating training materials and participating in the training and certification of new team members and clinical staff, ensuring all administrative requirements are current; preparing and/or ensuring qualitative and/or quantitative data is prepared for analysis; and contributing to the documentation, reporting, and dissemination of research study activities.

  • Enforces compliance practices by: monitoring adherence of project activities to policies and procedures by ensuring project plans and team members follow KP, departmental, and/or business line policies and procedures.
  • Guides others by: leading the work of project team members; requesting and coordinating internal and/ or external resources based on the alignment of team member skills and project demands; promoting project vision and objectives with project team; and providing guidance and feedback to team members.
  • Independently engages in project management by: managing projects of small-to-medium size, or components of a larger project from initiation to close-out; developing, analyzing, and executing project plans which include scope identification and management, schedule, inter-dependencies, and resource forecast; managing project financials for medium size projects; monitoring project performance (e.g., on time, on budget, within scope, and with quality) against plan and provides input and justification for costs and budget impact; managing project activities related to organizational change management (e.g., development and execution of user adoption, implementation, and training plans) as defined by the project; and allocating resources, establishes schedules, and makes task assignments.
  • Ensures concerns are addressed by: monitoring and identifying project risks, issues, and trigger events by executing mitigation plans and strategies; and resolving or escalating risks or issues as appropriate.
  • Drives stakeholder management by: ensuring the alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse project stakeholders by building rapport with stakeholder teams, third party vendors, and management; clarifying accountability and authority across stakeholders; clarifying accountability and authority across stakeholders; identifying and working closely with key stakeholders, ensuring all appropriate stakeholders are represented and included; providing insight to key stakeholders and project sponsors by developing project goals, setting the prioritization of deliverables, discussing involvement of business processes (e.g. project change management, communication) and facilitating decisions necessary for project delivery; and communicating tough issues to stakeholders while maintaining an independent opinion, providing recommendations, delivering presentations, and providing reports to stakeholders.
  • Engages in vendor management activities by: assisting with reviews of vendor performance levels and ensures service level agreements are met; and supporting the contract negotiation process with vendors and reviews project invoices submitted by vendors for accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Social or Behavioral Sciences, Health Services, Statistics, or Health Economics, or related field AND minimum three (3) years of experience in health research, public health, laboratory or social science research setting, epidemiology, social or behavioral sciences, health services or a directly related field. OR Minimum six (6) years of experience in health research, public health, laboratory or social science research setting, epidemiology, social or behavioral sciences, health services or a directly related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of experience in research project management.
  • One (1) year of healthcare experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in workforce strategy and design.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
