Assistant Manager, Behavioral Health - Child Team
Trains team to conduct assessments and provide diagnoses. Supervises team members and provides feedback, helps team to communicate to share results, discuss treatment plans, and provide resources. Monitors others assessment of urgent, high-risk clinical situations. Leads team to advocate for members/patients, address care issues, implement feedback, and/or investigate complaint resolutions, provides training and resources to team, ensuring a high-quality care experience, and reviews and confirms the teams referral to the appropriate services, and reviews information shared with providers. Monitors the teams quality and effectiveness in executing programs and recommends adjustments, trains team on systems and processes and encourages them to identify areas of improvement for programs, and manages provider schedules. Trains team on guidelines as well as regulatory policies, standards, and procedures, consulting with Compliance when necessary, and ensures team members complete documentation, records, and reports according to regulations.
- Recommends developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; provides team members with feedback; and mentors and coaches to drive performance improvement. Pursues professional growth; provides training and development to talent for growth opportunities; supports execution of performance management guidelines and expectations. Implements, adapts, and stays up to date with organizational change, challenges, feedback, best practices and processes. Fosters open dialogue, supports, mentors, engages, and motivates team members on collaboration. Delegates tasks and decisions as appropriate; provides appropriate support, guidance and scope.
- Supervises and coordinates daily activities of designated work team or unit by monitoring the execution and completion of tactical action items and work assignments; ensures all policies and procedures are followed. Aligns team efforts and standards, and measures progress in achieving results; determines and carries out processes and methodologies; resolves escalated issues as appropriate. Develops work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; coordinates, obtains and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; identifies and recommends improvement opportunities; influences teams to execute in alignment with operational objectives.
- Maintains effective client care by: leading team to advocate for members/patients, address care issues, implement feedback, and/or investigate member/patient complaint resolutions, recommending alternate solutions when necessary; providing training and resources to team regarding member/patient care experience, ensuring a high-quality member/patient care experience and service; and reviewing and confirming the teams referral of members/patients to the appropriate services, and reviewing information shared with providers.
- Leads compliant services by: training team on organizational, state, and federal guidelines as well as regulatory policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance, consulting with Compliance when necessary; and providing guidance to ensure team members complete written and electronic documentation, records, and reports according to department, federal, and state regulations.
- Ensures high quality counseling services by: supervising team members during psychological/behavioral interventions and providing feedback; helping team to communicate with patients, members, or families to share results, discuss treatment plans, and provide resources in an empathetic and supportive way; and monitoring others assessment of urgent, high-risk clinical situations (e.g., crisis, suicidal), ensuring team provides appropriate interventions and prompt resolutions.
- Leads patient evaluations and diagnoses by: training team to conduct member/patient assessments and mental health evaluations to provide diagnoses and develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans and approaches for identified diagnoses (e.g., individual, family, and group therapy) according to established methods.
- Leads program development and management by: monitoring the teams quality and effectiveness in executing therapy programs (e.g., in-/out-patient psychotherapy, chemical dependency) and recommending adjustments to improve impact of services; training team on systems and processes for outcome management and encouraging them to identify areas of improvement for clinical treatment programs, designs, or protocols; and maintaining and managing provider schedules and templates.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in treatment planning.
- Masters degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related field AND minimum two (2) years of experience in behavioral health or other relevant healthcare field.
- National Provider Identifier required at hire
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): N/A
- Two (2) years of experience working directly or indirectly with individuals with behavioral health conditions.
- Six (6) months of experience working with a labor-represented workforce.
