User Experience Designer IV
Advances knowledge of and applies appropriate design techniques, inclusive design principles, and accessibility guidelines, independently. Gathers insights on users to increase understanding of and define problems users are experiencing and prioritizes problems for design solutions. Creates design deliverables in alignment with the design system and presents drafts to gather feedback, provide progress updates, and gain stakeholder approval. Independently tests designs to analyze and synthesize results to inform the development of effective solutions. Designs features for high-visibility projects aligned with organizational and key stakeholder objectives. Leads collaboration between cross-functional teams to determine look, feel, and behavior of the product design. Facilitates ideation process within team including the generation, sharing, and analysis of potential design ideas based on feasibility, benefits, constraints, project alignment, and business objectives.

- Completes work assignments autonomously and supports business-specific projects by applying expertise in subject area and business knowledge to generate creative solutions; encourages team members to adapt to and follow all procedures and policies. Collaborates cross-functionally and/or externally to achieve effective business decisions; provides recommendations and solves complex problems; escalates high-priority issues or risks, as appropriate; monitors progress and results. Supports the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; identifies resources to accomplish priorities and deadlines. Identifies, speaks up, and capitalizes on improvement opportunities across teams; uses influence to guide others and engages stakeholders to achieve appropriate solutions.
- Identifies and understands needs of the user, key stakeholders, and business by: designing features for high-visibility projects aligned with organization objectives to achieve key results informed by collaborating with business stakeholders to determine expectations and requirements; leading collaboration across functions (e.g., engineers, product developers, editors, and accessibility) to agree on the overall look, feel, and behavior of a product; and ensuring design alignment with the value, costs, and benefits of proposed solutions in relation to user needs and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Contributes to the delivery of design collateral and documents by: creating user experience design deliverables in alignment with the design system as well as recommending improvements for the creation of deliverables when necessary; presenting drafts to defend design rational, gather feedback, increase awareness of progress, gain stakeholder approval, or support hand-off of work product; and independently testing product designs to analyze performance, synthesizing results, and incorporating findings in the creation of effective solutions and retesting to refine designs.
- Inspires new and better design solutions by: utilizing relevant information to generate and share design ideas for ambiguous problems with team; and facilitating peer review sessions to analyze the feasibility, benefits, constraints, and project goal alignment of ideas and identifying ideas that are actionable.
- Creates high-quality product designs by: following expectations, standards, and strategies for product design considering user value, engagement, and success as well as holding peers accountable to do the same; advancing knowledge by exploring emerging design methods on an ongoing basis as well as applying appropriate techniques to improve product design quality and processes; following a user-centered and data-informed iterative design process as well as identifying improvements for the future; and applying knowledge and experience in inclusive design and adhering to rules and regulations regarding accessibility guidelines (e.g., Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Android and iOS Mobile Guidelines, etc.) and supporting compliance within teams.
- Contributes to discovery activities when needed to ensure iterative design process by: identifying and defining the problem(s) users are experiencing within products; gathering insights through qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g., interviews, observation, surveys, analytics, market research, etc.) to increase the understanding of user behavior (e.g., wants, needs, motivations) and inform team of issues that require design solutions; and facilitating workshops to gather information from stakeholders to create an experience map as well as prepare flows to increase understanding of the prospective users experience while interacting with the product.

- Minimum three (3) years of experience in user experience (UX) design.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience designing for Web or Application platforms.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working with user experience design tools.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in the design and delivery of enterprise applications or products.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working with user data and insights.
- Associates degree in Applied Science, Social Sciences, Arts, Humanities, Design, Software Dev, Business, or related field AND minimum six (6) years professional experience including internship experience OR minimum seven (7) years professional experience including internship experience.
- One (1) year of experience in healthcare or another heavily regulated industry (e.g., Banking).
- One (1) year of experience creating and analyzing workflows.
