Speech Therapist I, Acute Rehab, Per Diem
Provides speech therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and or Clinical Supervisor or designee.
- Deliver Direct Patient Care Consistent with the provisions of the Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and Hearing Aid Dispensers Licensure Act, licensing bodies, and Kaiser Permanente HealthPlan.
- Provides accurate and timely documentation of services provided per State and Federal requirements and relevant medical group and health plan policies and guidelines.
- Participates in multidisciplinary clinics, patient care rounds, and case management conferences as requested by management.
- Refers patient to appropriate medical providers when care is outside of scope of practice.
- May instruct patient education classes and/or groups as requested by management.
- May provide department in-service as requested by management e.g., journal club presentation, regular in-service presentation.
- May serve as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
- May provide consultation to staff.
- May act as a mentor for staff.
- May assist in orientation and training of employees as needed.
- May participate in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
- May be involved in the clinical competency of SLP Assistants and Rehab Aides.
- May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.
- Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.
- Completion of a Speech Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) Internship required by date of hire.
- Graduate of an accredited speech language pathology curriculum with a Bachelor or Master or Doctoral degree with certification in Speech Language Pathology or foreign trained equivalent.
Speech-Language Pathologist License (California) required at hire
National Provider Identifier required at hire
Basic Life Support
- Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate required at hire from American Speech/Language and Hearing Association
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
